  1. Interesting problem......I like the idea of a high pressure cleaner, especially as you can't remove the tank. Can you get a nozzle from a gurnie type cleaner in to it ? Or make a extention piece to fit a high pressure cleaner that can get into there ??

You should have a great time at the course....And get your trailer finished as well....

I have MIG, Stick and Oxy, and MIG is great ! (Fast, easy & good welds) I have built a trailer and if you take your time, plan well it should be great.. I'm up the top end of the coast, so if you have any Q's...just ask..

  3. Hi

We used to get rid of water by adding anhydrous ethanol (Methylated spirits) which mix with both water and petrol. I don't know about your tank, but up to 100 litres each we used to add a hand full of ball bearings and shake....clean as...I don't know if your tank is removable....... If your tank is heavy ask a few mates to help...

Great job on the restoration !

    Cheers

  7. Hi Roberta...

After that fantastic Entrance Social, how could anyone say no to another event ? I have emailed the park for accomodation (if there is any left) and if so then count myself and Mrs gyropilot IN....sounds great !!! That was the 2nd and 3rd June wasn't it ?? (First weekend)...

  8. For the past few days (5) I have been trying various SP's and a few HB's in Lake Macquarie and Tuggerah Lake.(Land based). HB's didn't do well, not even SX40's, grubs no good but squidgie shad 3" were chewed, bitten, swallowed, spat, but I just couldn't land a legal sized bream or flathead on one ! Ugh. Then again no one near got anything on bait either...fussy fish ?? Lots of bait fish and undersize but nothing legal...ugh.

    Cheers

  9. Hi

Just remember that it is better to be SAFE in smoother water wondering what the fishing is like outside, rather than BE outside wondering how you are going to get back in alive! Play it safe, you can also take an experienced person with you, if you need a confidence booster...

  10. Hi guys,

Yes those maps do exist, but are not available to us mere mortals, even though I was one of the many contributors years ago. (I have more than 500 dives in the harbour). I don't even have a complete harbour map ! Was there a specific area, or something that you just want to know ? I mainly focussed east of Rose Bay to South head, and a few on the North side....to just outside and around South Head (the Colours). It's really amazing what you find on the bottom of the Harbour....

  11. Hi

I have fished there before. My brother lives up there (commercial fisho - still holds many QLD records). I would try near Indian Head, use heavy gear or risk busts....I got a 25 lb jewie on hand line !! It was the smallest fish of the evening.

    Good Luck up there..

  12. Location: Cabbage Tree Bay (Norah Head) at the end of Bald St (Trailer parking next to Norah Head Search & Rescue)

Condition of Ramp/Access: Good Condition, 2 lanes, I suggest NEVER launch/retrieve at low tide as even 4x4 have been bogged in the sand at the end of the ramp with a heavy boat. Good spot for launch/recovery in heavy Southerly as it is sheltered.

Parking/Facilities: Car/trailer parking up the hill (be fit) at the top of Bald St. Toilets, a seat, great area for the kids (Rock pool for the littlies to swim in).

  13. Hi,

A 240VAC power point is a good source of power, did you want to charge batteries from something else ? If you want to charge 12V from 24V then you don't need the Arlec, just a regulator will do (cheaper)..

Let me know what you need..

    Cheers

  14. Hi

I tried that...no good because of the size.....

Attach to a PM was the probable answer...

Or attach to an email... working on that...

    Fingers crossed..

  15. Hi

Rodf and chainsaw, I have sent the circuits and some text (explains why General Electric designed it) to you...Hope you get it OK...I'm a bit to this site...there should be 2 pix...one in more detail of the cct and one with cct and text...

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.. I have built 2 of these and they work great...hope you have sucess too, and no flat batteries....if it were me, I would parallel the caravan and boat batteries, connect this device and just leave it...no worries..that's what its designed for !

    Geoff

  16. Hi Guys,

If anyone is interested, I have a circut I built into an Arlec 4 amp charger I got from Supercheap Auto. It was designed by GE and you connect it to a battery turn it on, and you can leave it on indefinitely ! (Even years!) The battery will be charged for when you need it. I think originally for snowmobiles etc where they are left for long periods when not in use. It was cheap to make (I think about $30 plus the charger) and I use it on motorcycle and boat batteries...if anyone wants it I'll send the circuit...

    Cheers

  17. Hi Guys,

Sounds like a great social, I get a chance to meet more 'raiders, pick up some fishy tips, its only down the road (comparativly speaking) I read someone mentioned the BBQ word - how could anyone say no ? Sounds like THE EVENT of the year !! (It would only be me though as Mrs Gyropilot is taking care of family commitments).

I'm not sure about that handicap system for locals though (LOL)......as mentioned...fishing left handed, stubby in right hand balancing on windsurfer - today only a small amount of very small bream... had to throw them all back...way too small...I think I need more practice.....

    Cheers

    Geoff
