As long as your close to your rod.Also grab to feel whats going on,

Because with braided line you can feel if they are swimming close to bait.

It depends on how big your bait is.

I've found that just dropping the rod tip after the first bump

while the reel is in gear & then waiting to feel weight & hitting them hard achieves

the best results.

It does mean standing there for a long time with the rod in your hand, but it

works for me.
