  1. Thursday was such a lovely day to pack a lunch and do a bit of land based :fisher: with a friend. After trying to find MY tackle box and reel I finally just grabbed what was closest and head. Who need kids, :1badmood: nothing stay's your own unless under lock and key. So headed of and decided the rules were 5 points for a keeper, 3 for a good fish but undersize eg bream or flathead and 1 point for yuk fish,eg cat and puffer fish.

First stop was under Brooklyn bridge. Mere Male caught the first on a hand line and as if was coming in I said CAT FISH. I was right. Second fish MM realed in was another cat fish and I was on as well. Next thing I here was "BLOODY THING JUST BIT ME" :1yikes: Turned around and it was bleeding like anything. Trying not to :074: as the silly bugger tried to just flick it of the hook and keeping my sarcastic comments to my self, first instinct is to grab water and wash it B4 putting band aid on. As soon as the chilled drinking water hit it the pain increased 100 fold. Called flight manager for his :15: and decided to head for hospital as swelling and redness was travelling up the arm.

Moral to the story is don't put cold water on a cat fish bite, hot as you can stand it only and BiCard in the water helps as well and two don't fish with anyone who is that intent on winning they will have to be taken to hospital just to win the comp.

By the way my line only had a catfish on it and the second rod I grabbed in hast had no handle on it. So moral no 3 would be to always check your gear first.

  2. Just a quick post to brag about No3 kid Cameron. He is out with Paris and Stumpy on DAYRELEASE and he caught a bream about 30cm and today a Kingy at 70cm. I really do hope daddy doesn't blood him otherwise that is two smelly shirts I will have sitting around the house. Will let Stumpy do a post and show the pictures there. :1clap:

  3. Thank God for small blessings, even if they come in the form of Flight Manager and Paris. Thankyou Guys for going out with Murray as Jessie's back and neck was not fit for the O/N trip. I hate the thought of Murray going it alone with only Cam. I like Murray's ears the way they are and I know poor Paris and you copped the non stop banter. Thank's for letting us have a girlies night.

Sorry Murray didn't pack the plates and you had to wait to eat dinner when you returned.

Till next time LOVE AND SLOPPY KISSES (sorry Cath)

    JO

  4. :1welcomeani: to fishraider and may the force be with you when you go out Flightmanager and Paris. Terrible company that will either have you hurting in the sides from laughter or wishing you had another set of arms because they hurt so much from all the fish you catch. :fisher: What a terrible way to spend the day.

MGibbo and I go out fishing on the Hawksberry on week days if you would like to join us. We would be more than happy to arrange a day out with you. Three ladies on the water, way to go. No need to make us coffee or be be the gaff woman as we all help each other. Unlike jewgaffer who obviously just want a woman to look after him for the day :074:

You have joined the right team of fisho's to learn from and enjoy your time out on and off the water. The people on hear are truelly a great bunch and as you can see we all like to have fun and enjoy a fish. Keep an eye out for social activities and nights where you can learn about anything from the latest navigational system to the basics of fishing. You will be welcomed and learn something from these night.

By the way, when there is a sale night on at one of the sponsors shops, it's not just shopping, but meeting the rest of the raiders. Great night to swap stories and of course grab a bargain.

Welcome and PM me when you get a free day. Otherwise Stumpy is always looking for a fishing co. on the boat. I would love another woman to show him up like his daughter, Jess (stumpette) did. See King Fish At North Head.

ROSS look after LISA. And make sure the curry isn't to hot if you take it with you. :fart:

    Cheers Stewy

Thanks Stewy, Next time I see you I hope will deal with your enticement for him to travel to Burke and back.

By the way, Jess loves the new rig. Love :wife: JO xx

  6. You boys do realize now you mentioned using a totally different set up to what he has if he passes a tackle shop on his day he will go shopping. Saying that to him is like telling me there is a sale on at Myers. Thanks for all you help and see you all online with the big catch!!!!!

By the way I have to help him rig the lines tonight. Seeing as I know nothing he will have fun.LOL :wife:

  7. :1welcomeani: Love to hear about a good fish caught but it is even better when a lady does it. :1clap: Great catch and welcome to the site. Hopefully we will catch up at a social one day.

Best way to get the size of the fish with out guessing is that it came up to your bust, so drop a tape measure down to the ground and presto, you should have the length of the fish. Let us kow what the measure is as I would love to know if the the lads, as I am sure they are, have it right.

Rule of thumb, when you don't have a camera you always get a big one.

  8. I dont smoke but i find that a wee over the side of the boat has the same effect :thumbup::thumbup:

So is this the new form of burley.

My darling daughter, it would have only been illegal to tie up to the spit bridge and fish there if Roosterman had of read that sign properly. And besides, they do bend the rules when it is raining-I am sure. Therefore, stay on the right side of the law(that would be me) and you may continue to recieve mobile phone fringe benefits............otherwise, start collecting firewood to send smoke signals to your boyfriends instead :mad3:

P.S Mummy said you were washing your shirt................. dont bother, we will frame it! :biggrin2:

    Cheers,

    Stumpy(Dad)

You may frame the shirt but it is not hanging in my room. As much as I love fishing I don't like the smell.

    Love Mum :wife:

  9. Well what a day you both had whilst mummy was stuck in bed after a car accident. Not  that I couldn't join you both. :05:

As we can all see Stumpy has a great talent for a yarn but the best part about it is Jess was there to stop the "wopper stopper" being bought out into the size factor.

How exciting it was to see a photo of Jess just after her first king fish, sent via the phone. What a thrill Jess it was for me.

By the way Stumpy, Jess does her own washing now :biggrin2: , so I don't have to do the shirt. LOL

Great day guys can't wait to eat the catch. Love MUM :wife:

  10. MGibbo and I try to go every Thursday. If we get bad weather or it is predicted for bad weather Thursday she changes her work day so we can go on a Tuesday. I think if we had a great day on Thursday we both would probably call in sick for Friday as we both love it so much. Great company helps the lack of "the big one." Stumpies Bertie is to big for me to handle, so I would like to get myself something smaller then the kids and I would go after school a little more. Weekend sport limits us on the weekends.

The picture is from a friend who came out with us, she calls it Thelma and Louise.

  11. Murray and the girls have gone :1fishing1: with Flightmanager and NO1 son. Both boats left here about 30mins ago. Cameron has an 8.30 soccer game then we will be joining them. Would love to fish Sunday as well for mothers day but I have a Soccer game and so does Bec. Hopefully will be eating a fish BBQ for dinner Sunday night. Safe weekend to all. Happy mum day to all fellow mums and to the men who's :wife: hate fishing don't worry about not being able to go this weekend or talk about, Fathers day is in September. You can fish all like then.

  12. How this for service. When we went to the entrance social, Murray needed some gear but was unable to make it out to Watto's. Wanting to support the buisness that supports us, fishraiders, he makes a call to I assume Sean. Sean and Cladia were brining it up with them to the social for us. Now, being Murray he decides after he organised this that he wanted it straight away, as you do. A fellow fishraider was calling in B4 coming to the social so they gave it to them to give to us. Sean and Claudia had never met us and we paid them when they arrived at the entrance. How helpful was that.

Now here is something one step above and beyond. Claudia, Mrs Watto, is going to teach MGibbo and I how to fish with plastics. Were out for a fish in a couple of weeks and she is bringing WATTOS famous plastic prawns. How's that for a fellow Fishraiders and a sponsor.

  13. Next thing you know Donna will have buggered off with the Polycraft and picking one of the girls up for a soft plastic session :yahoo: Does it get any better than this ??? Women who love fishing

NOW THATS WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT .

Well done Jo and Marg :biggrin2:

    Cheers Stewy

Don't know if Donna is able to join MGibbo, Mrs Watto and me for our session inMay. Will have to PM her to see if she can. Can you imagine 4 ladies fishing together. :yahoo: What a brilliant thought. Mind you I'd love a session on "How to with plastics"

  14. Forget the fishing skill I love the photographic skills of the self portrait with the fish.

By the way was it you I took a photo of at the enterance. If not here it is. I do hope I have the correct person?
