thanks tons Champ!
I don't use SPs at the moment (actually don't know how to do it, only do bait fishing, without much luck anyway...)
it's amazing that you have caught different types of fish on SPs, esp Whiting...I love it (always purchase it from local fish shops), wish I could feed on my own catch some day!
do you reckon there is any chance I could catch anything around Port Hacking with prawn/pilchards... any suggestions?
happy to take on any big fish... hopefully something I've never caught like - whiting, snapper, sambo, King, banito, etc.
any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

Hi Buddy, Ok to let me know the good spot for fishing around your local area?
I'm from eastern suburb, would like to try port hacking (land based) during x'mas, would be great to have some advice...
many thanks

thanks mate, after some research it seems like a baby nurse shark, but now more seems to be a blind shark, which would live out of water for quite long, I'm about to release it now...

second one is a sargent baker, not the best on the table, too many bones. the others not sure can't see them properly.
The fish in the green net are the same one from different angel...
looks like some kind of shark to me...

thanks for sharing the story,mate.
guess providing false name could be the trigger of the rest accounts, as long as it's not his intension to break the rules plus first time, it should still be ok...
Hey Fishingfan
Carry your license mate at all times will save the grief! Next time you might get a $110 on the spot fine..... like I might get one day,,,, After my first warning for not carrying it.
I know its all too easy to forget it. But if you want to contact them (FISHERIES),,, they will clear this issue up.
In the meantime I will try and post my cautionary notice which I recieved for not carrying a license!!! Still have it !!

thanks a lot D&G!
hope there is no subsequent fines/penalties, will fax the license tomorrow.
should have kept it in the wallet in stead of car, all because of fearing that the license might get wet if slipping into the water ...

good advice!
will it be treated valid license by using the mobile phone?
officers are very reasonable, and just trying to educate new anglers.
the female officer was really kind and pretty as well

Couldn’t find fishing license when the maritime officer asked for it. Later found it in the car (not in wallet)… was actually fishing with a license.
Officer collected personal details and requested a fax copy of the license within 14 days.
Also an undersized tarwhine was found in possession, and asked to be released. (the girls would just like to keep it a little longer since that’s their first time saw a fish got caught – was about to release it anyway, but…shouldn’t have kept it in the first place) the fish was released straight away. copy of booklet was handed over by officer for education purpose...never kept undersized fish before, this is the first time...
What to expect after copy of license is faxed?

Hi everyone,
Hit the bay today around 11am,and there was not much goin on
other than wind, wind and more waves, fish were hard to come by.
It was too blowy but I still needed to get out on the water.
Tried all my usual spots and the only one to produce any fish,
was at the sticks.Landed 4 Trevs and a Bream, and thats all she wrote.

Tony at Fishfinder bait & tackle at Matraville usually has good supplies of live beachworms for sale.
He's a site sponsor too!
Thanks for the update mate! maybe I should try some other options, off the rock area around Maroubra, a bit scary tho... not sure whether it's worth the risk...
Tried La Perouse offshore - only small ones - released heaps
any way to get rid of them? any big fish around small ones? or am I using the wrong hook? (size 4)
thanks in adv

looks impressive, now to do it mate, sick of fishing....

Thanks Trouble, hope Sambo would show up at Maroubra Beach some day...
I was using size8 rod & 20lb string + size 4 hook with running sinker rig, no luck so far apart from a 0.5kg bream (about 2 mo ago)
had not even a single bite ever since...
would be great to have some tips on beach/rock fishing in terms of Bait, Rig, timing and spot....
thanks in adv.
