  1. I sometimes salt slimey fillets and when the moisture was taken out of them i put them in a bag with tuna oil and abit of garlic and put them in the freezer the reef fish seem to like it.

Funny how many coastal anglers despise Leatherjackets. I suppose they can be nuisance value. Personally I enjoy catching them and think they are very good eating quality.

You had a good session and scored plenty of fish to share between you all. Well done Kobi. Tight lines.

Those yellow jackets are very tasty.

    Hi Raiders,

Planning to fish around the Belambi area.

In terms of putting the boat in and retrieving it, is it possible to do this solo at Belambi?

I don't have a drive on drive off trailer, I use a launch rope.

The worst thing with Bellambi ramp is the swell and low tide. The swell comes through the breakwall as well from around the corner and on to the ramp i have a drive on trailer but have seen plenty of people use a launch rope you will know what i mean when you have done it a few times and it can be a challenge at times when there is a bit of swell around dead flat easy good luck.

    Hi all,

Is anyone here who does squid fishing in Terrigal (land based or boat/kayak)?

I'm new to squidding, got a number of different squid jigs, tried casting for a few hours recently for nothing. One guy commented the water is too dirty for squid, but I'm not sure if it's water clarity or my technique/jigs.

Have you been there in the last couple of weeks? Did you catch any squid? May be would be keen to show me squidding master class? I would really appreciate!

    Thanks!

    Ray

Squid like clean calm water find a spot with a bit of depth bit of weed and fish around sunrise or sunset on a run up tide is prime time also around the big tides of any month full moon new moon Yamashita jigs green blue pink as for weight 3.0 to 3.5 should do good luck.

  5. Miya epoch big one only reel for me had a Daiwa Tanacom bull and hooked something big one day at Kiama canyons and it stripped all the line so fast off it i could smell the drag washers burning even broke the level wind on it piece of junk. As for line around 120lb will do.

Yep, that appears to be the case, it's only a matter of time before they put some kind of ban on fishing there! When it's all said and done, the fishing is not that good, it's just convenient.

I got told while ago that a fence could be erected but pretty easy to cut a hole in it i also have complained to council about the rubbish down there and they said its the water boards land and the water board say its councils problem so i dont know who would pay for a fence.

Squid are pretty much everywhere if there is weed and bait around prime time is before sun up or sun going down and run up tide yamashita jigs are what i would use good luck.

Hi Motiondave  Half the problem is finding out who is responsible for the area. I have been sending emails & spoken to crown lands for the past 2 years. They acknowledge that they are responsible for the area. Have drawn plan to fix problems. Just fall on deaf ears.

that ramp is not to bad i get a 670 barcrusher on and off easy solo just a bit shallow on the way out trim engine up.
