We went out to give it a crack, with not much luck. We managed to find some great temp beaks SE of the canyons we put in the hours and only managed one albacore.the weather wasn't the best yesterday, Hats off to the charters who go out day in and day out, I feel battered today.

I was talking to a mate who owns a tackle store in Vic recently and he suggested staying away from Penn these days which goes against everything that was true when I was a kid. He reckons unless you can get something that is made in the USA from them, that most of it comes out of China now and isn't built to last like they used to be.
There might be some cheap imitation's out there.I Purchased a New Penn 50 last week, they are still made in America.

Try Mo tackle. If you can't afford a new shimano 50, why not buy a 50 Penn International V Two Speed Series $600 that's good value.

Hi Fishos
I'm keen to go for whiting in the entrance channel. Anyone know if the whiting are on the bite yet? run inn or run out tide?
Cheers Joe

good report Finin, sounds like the kings are a bit shy this week. Never heard about gemmies caught at 12mile though. could be the first.

Hi
Just wanting to know how the fishing is going at Avoca, I haven’t fished there for a long time. I am planning to fish a couple of arvo sessions when the water gets a little warmer.
Cheers

A little bit pricey, but their stickers are good quality and a very fast online service. I ordered mine on a wednesday and had them by friday.
Thanks for that. Out of interest is your boat parked in front of your house at Doonside. If it is, nice boat I drive past it all the time it must be 7 to 7.5m long?

I want to get a boat name decal made up for my boat [vinyl sticker], can any raiders recommend someone that design one up for me.

I went out on Tuesday for an arvo session stayed to 6pm but had no luck, nice to speak to a few of you Raiders on the radio. Till next time

I think I can help. If you go to Redfern station on a Monday you will see a group of guys with baseball hats just hanging out just ask them they will show you the goods.

Hey James Sounds like you had a tough day on the water. I had a tough day last Monday I couldn’t wait too see land. Out of interest what lure did hook the YFT on? I might go out on Tuesday did you find and temp breaks? You should post a picture of your new toy mate.

Well done, Great fish guys. It looks like I left to early on Monday. The seas were a little uncomfortable in the morning; I had no more berley left in my stomach. I needed to go back and sit under a big gum tree.

Thanks for the great night it was a great evening and extremely informative. It was great to meet you Ross.

I would love to see a night on rigging dead baits for skip and swim baiting, with a bit of hands on teaching....
I did a bit of it in Cairns and loved it, brought what I learnt back to Sydney and now use it here....would love to see how the Sydney Pro's do it.
Also interested in the swap and sell night, sounds great.
sounds good keepin_TABS

fisherman_Sam, it all depends on how deep the water is that you’re jigging in. I use no less than 250g jigs when jigging in 100-130m of water. If you only want to buy a couple of jigs, you can't go past the Daiwa Sacrifice Stick Jig. This is how one of my mags describes the jigs. I hope this helps.
A versatile bottom jigging lure for a broad variety of game fish. The unique shape creates a slow fluttering on the sink while shoulders cause the bait to swim when retrieved. Detailed prism scale finish and 3-D eyes. The lure's "Wing" shape creates a slow, fluttering action on the sink for greater time in the strike zone. It also reduces cranking resistance on the retrieve
