Hi,
Just sold my caribbean concorde over the weekend as i am keen to get a bigger boat with some creature comfort for the family. Been toying with idea of searay 215/225 weekender or 240 sundancer. Anyone has them and are they suitable to be taken offshore for spot of fishing?

I'm guessing 70-115 Johnson/Evenrude and it is something to do with tilt/trim.
Frank
Yes. Is a 1980 100hp johnson

Thanks Green Hornet. But no it's not the lever that locks the motor in tilt position…

Check on something like marine engine if they share the same part number, if so, you’re golden
Checked and different part number.
Suspect it will probably cause misfires.

Anyone know what is the outcome of using power pack from a different year and lower HP outboard?
off a 60hp into a 100hp Johnson

1&3 wasn’t it 2&4 that wasn’t firing?
My bad .... It's firing up now. Any suggestion where to get power packs from?
-
Problem found... It's the power pack...Swapped from right to left and cylinders 1&3 fired up.
Thanks to all.
Any suggestion where I should get a
582125 CD4 POWER PACK (B) It's for a 1980 Johnson 100HP outboard.

Thanks guys.... I will do a swap of the leads one of these nights and revert .... I am at killara
-
Perhaps silly question but would the cylinders that are not firing up have any compression? -. Before I spend money buying some to test compression.
To prove that the cylinders are not firing up ....I started engine and pulled out the spark plug leads and there were no drop in idling speed.
I am learning hence you might have to cut me some slacks on amateur questions

Fixed the lead ..tested with ammeter...... cyclinder 2 and 4 not firing up.
i was running it on 2 cylinders for a couple hours out in the water on Sunday. Could that have stuffed up the cyclinders? Any ideas?

Hi,
got an old 1980 100hp Johnson 2 stroke that needs a couple of spark plug leads. Searching eBay it Seems spark plug leads comes in various specs depending on engines, year of engines and HP.
where can I buy them? What would you recommend? How much would it cost?

Thanks to all... Transom seems sound and no unusual change in sound when I knock on it. Will monitor and get someone to take a look at it at some stage.

Thanks Anthony.
i still would like to know what everyone uses to hold the wires against the internal fibreglass ... dob of silicon?

Hi Zoran,
Thanks. I would like to rewire following:
Bilge pump
Navigation lights
Cabin lights
Horn
Radio
Fish finder
Ciggie sockets
Deck lights
Keen to reuse the preexisting fuse and switch combo panel.
What size wires to use, where do u get them , how do you attach wire to sides of internals without drilling.
Keen to also see pics of how others have tidied up their wirings.

I went RACQ as our cars and home contents are with them. Found them to be one of, if not the cheapest I found. I do have to get my 87 carribean surveyed though before next year as its now 30 years old and needs to be assessed for safety by a professional. But I think others will have a similar policy on older boats
I have got a 30 year old Caribbean too. Is it a normal for a survey prior insurance is approved?

Thanks Berleyguts

Hello,
another newbie. Got myself a Caribbean Concorde over the weekend and now realising much more needs to be sorted....boat cover, hitch lock, Inox amongst many others.
Let’s start with insurance.....
Which is the better priced insurers to go for?
Do you need one for trailer? I have heard it’s often targeted by lowlifes.

All,
