@Jp2schools of rats come into the harbour in summer so I guess you can just hope there’s a legal one somewhere among them which you can take home for a feed. What bait were you using?
Hi Aussie, we were using squid strips and live yakkas. That is usually the plan.

Well done bob, any keepers in the mix?? I was out today and landed 20 or so by not 1 legal thrown in. 🤦🏽♂️

Hi JP, Makes sense - there was the annual coral spawn up north on the news a few days ago. And lots of baitfish around. The ocean side off jibbon bommie was sounding baitfish everywhere.
Did you see it down this way past jibbon?
or a different area?
curious to know if it was happening in other spots along the coastlineMorning mate, I was off Maroubra.

I have a question, maybe someone can answer. While I was out there I went through some water that was a different colour when viewed through polarised glasses to the surrounding water. My glasses have a brown tint and I was going through large patches of water that looked red. With glasses off, I couldn’t tell the difference.
Hello mate, I was out also and found the red patches I believe to be coral spawn.
Thanks

Squid strips, butterflied yakkas and plastics as I didn’t have time to catch livies.!

Seems that the Kingfish have been very elusive recently. Evidenced by the lack of reports from our gun Fishraider anglers. In fact the last successes were Swordy and Shroom, but that was several weeks ago. They will turn up, though with the windy, wet weather which is prevalent at present, it could be a while. You can only keep trying. bn
I have had an epic week on the kings along the cliffs this week. In 3 x 2 hour sessions probably 60 fish caught and released with a few 75cm taken for the table.

One thing for sure. Weather forcasters could not pick the wind speed, and definitely not the winning lotto numbers.
I think the apprentice has been throwing darts at balloons!!

P.s heap of fisheries and police out there policing the 10km rule, inspecting all gear and being ruthless. Saw a few fines handed out at ramp.

Hi guys, headed out with the old man within our 10km from home off the eastern suburbs inspired by @TK01. Was first boat at ramp on Tuesday which is rare. I was throwing plastics while the old man was on the floaters. I was happy to come up on this red on 14lb braid while the old man got a couple smaller models.
I guess it’s nice to fish bread and butter and close to home sometimes instead of chasing unicorns out wide.
Thanks, John

Hi Isaac, great catch at your local. Try a bucket of berley and you should increase your catch rate on those trevally.

Congrats mate, nice reds. It’s a very fine line to upping leader and reducing strikes.

Cracking red mate well done. Its amazing how often those casts or drops cast produce. What depth were you in?
Thank you mate, usually first light is best but this time we found a heap of bait in 60m which we were dropping on which produced half a dozen quality fish later in morning. We usually travel down in the dark then fish till 10/11am then shoot home.
