I'm thinking to fish around Marine Parade on Easter weekend. It looks to be sheltered from southerly wind but Just wonder any good around this area.

Sorry I have to vent. I went to Cobblers bay today afternoon for a quick session (I know the tide was not right but I just want to get out for few casts). I cut through the bush to get down to the rocks because i don't want to take a long walk to the beach then to the rocks. I didn't realise the number of used condoms were in the bush, the amount of rubbish between the rocks were unbelievable and some beach goer took a dump behind the rocks about 100 m away from where I stood.
I can stand a bit of rubbish between the rocks but condoms and fresh poo are the tipping point for me. People want clean and nice beach but the dump all their waste anywhere they want. I honestly will not recommend this beach to anyone.

I've been looking on google maps for new fishing spots. I find Wyargine Point to Wyargine Reserve very promising from google maps view. I could not find any info about this area. Has anyone fished there? Any success?

Hi everyone,
I'm thinking to land based fishing at Umina Point or Ettalong Beach Point tomorrow at low tide. I'm thinking to carry 2 rods, 10ft 2-5kg and 12ft 6-10kg rod and prawns for bait. My first time visit Ettalong beach. Do you have any suggestions, tips or anything i should be look out for?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone,
Just wondering any recommendation for low tide land based fishing spots around Manly, Newport, North Palm beach, Gosford or Woy Woy. I normally go solo fishing so ocean rock fishing is really not for me.
Thanks in advance.

I quite enjoy fishing the flats at Bayview and around Church Point. Never had much success there on lures though.
If you're willing to go a bit further south, go to Narrabeen Lake. A few spots to explore.
If you're having problems with people, try getting there early in the morning, say just on sunrise. You'll have the place to yourself.
Thanks LT. I will try out some time.

Hi everyone,
I recently learnt how to use soft plastic lure to target Flathead and Whiting. I have to admit I really enjoy fishing with soft plastic. I have been exploring Palm Beach and Clareville areas but I am struggling to find decent fishing locations with less beach goers, no private property jetty blocking the beach. Are there any land based fishing spots from Newport to Palm beach for Flathead and Whiting fishing?
Thanks

Thanks Noelm for the good tips. It has to be after lockdown, I can't afford a hefty fine.

Hi Dan, welcome.
So one of the best things you can do when new here is try & use the information that already exists to help answer your question.
The best way to do this is by using the search tab with & try to be very specific.
So I just put land based into the search bar & got these threads that could be of help-
So have a scout in these threads for ideas & other links within these threads as there are Sydney fishing guides within some of them.
You could also do a search like- northern beaches, or sydney beaches etc, look through then & find something that could contain some info, if not refine your search to use other words or a single word by area.
Good luck
You
Thanks everyone for all the good fishing spots and tips. I will definitely try out after this lockdown.

Hi Everyone,
I am looking for some good beach fishing spots. I am based at Epping, Sydney so I don't mind doing a bit of driving.
Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.

Hi Everyone,
I'm Dan. I fished in NZ for number of years so I can't say I am new to fishing but I am new to fishing in Sydney, Australia. I haven't picked up a fishing rod for about 10 years. I recently found some free time and I want to spend some time with 13 years old son so I decided to start shore fishing again.
I am based in Epping, Sydney so my son and I normally go fishing at little Manly point or Parsley bay boat ramp. We haven't caught anything decent to take home. We can't wait until this lockdown lifted so we can try our luck.
