Just want opinions on this

not too big on overheads, already got similar for ballooning, just not like casting them
Got a 10500 spinfisher with 80lb, just bit heavy to hold,
probs maybe go for a bg 6500 or a spinfisher 8500

chasing resident sambos and kingies in the marina on livies

saltist BW 802XH
BG 6500
80-100lb braid
80lb leader (they can get finicky)
some of them are over 40kg
rhinking if this is good
cheers

Think ill go for 14k running pe8, also might get another spool for pe6 for it as well
-
Looked at this there is no really clear answer but looking for pointers on what size reel
Thanks

What size ATC would you reccomend
looked into the 10k for pe8 but nothing else

Just looking for help choosing my new topwater outfits,
Already own a pe6 and several lighter setups, just wanting help with going for a pe8 and a pe10
I see that some people around go for 14k reels for pe8, some 10k and the occasional 18k.
Pe 10 just most likely 18k for large poppers ands stickbaits, wondering what reel under 600ish would do the job
Also looking for what reel for pe 8- stickbait or small poppers same price 600ish
Cheers

Hi guys, just wondering does anyone have any experience with shark fishing, not looking at any overheads or kayaking baits.
Thinking of either getting a pe8 popping rod and spinfisher 6 10500
Also maybe aswell penn prevail II 12ft 15-37kg with another spinfisher
wondering about braid, capacity, other rods/reels
Cheers

Like a slammer 10500? Mines loaded with 150 lbs braid, absolute beast of a reel. Just be ready for an awesome fight when you hook up also the slammers are very heavy to jig with, but I have used mine for jigging
Also looked at them but u think a bit heavy to be jigging for a while

Why overhead? Your limited to just live baiting and jigging with an overhead jigging reel, a solid spinning reel like the 18k Certate and Saragossa or 8500 slammer holds
Already own a 8500hs slammer 4 with pe 10 on my gt rod, found that when fishing vertical overhead is better for sheer pulling power and strength, also the samsonfish in my area can be 50kg+ in some circumstances with big sharks and heavy structure so almost thinking of going to pe10

Hi guys,
wanting to jig for kingfish, amberjack, samsonfish and possible doggies,
thinking of going for an Ocea Jigger 4000HG running PE 8 braid on either a Oceans Legacy Pe 5-10 Adrenalin overhead jigging rod or a Shimano Tcurve overhead rod rated to 37kg braid
wondering if this would suit or any other things you want to add
Thanks

Thanks for the info, thinking of going for an Ocea Jigger 4000HG running PE 8 braid on either a Oceans Legacy Pe 5-10 Adrenalin overhead jigging rod or a Shimano Tcurve overhead rod rated to 37kg braid
Any suggestions or other info wanted

Hello,
Looking at purchasing a proper fast jigging setup
Wondering to go overhead or spin
What line and leader
What reels, rods etc.
Mainly chasing amberjack, kingfish, samsonfish and possibly dogtooth,
Any advice or a point in the right direction would help
Thanks

Budget?
I'm no expert
Be looking at a 10000 size spin reel, if you're gonna go pe 8-10 probably a stella Or even an ATC vigour which are a load cheaper
Rod wise one of the venom stickbait rodsyI wouldn't buy one without holding it first you want to make sure it's comfortable if you're running 15kg of drag
Budget is not that big of an issue just not wanting to dish out $2000+
…Comfortable running 15kg and higher

How about a second hand 6500 saltinga with pe 10
and
Saltist Mq 14k with pe 8

Hi guys I am new here,
I am looking into a topwater setup for large fish

specialist rod
