  1. Hi guys

Been busy of late but was able to get out last Tuesday and Friday was hoping to get some calamari and some flatheads for Good Friday for the family lunch no luck with the calamari so I trolled a lure south of Port Hacking along the cliffs to my surprise caught about 4 small mahi-mahi about 40 to 50 cm which I released and got a couple of bonitos which I kept for fresh bait and decided to try for some flatheads was able to get five nice fish couple of blue spots and two marble flathead I think had another go on Friday morning wanted some fresh calamari for lunch but still no luck so tried to get some more bonito for lunch this time and a couple more flatheads put the lures out just off Jibbon beach and was surprised one of the rods went off wasn’t a big fish when we drought it in could not believe it was a flathead we released it and continue to troll down south along the cliffs got a couple of bonitos and tried a few drifts for some flatheads and scored a couple nice fish.PS it’s the first time I’ve cooked bonito and it won’t be the last time

1-North side of milson island- in far enough to get out of the main current  , 2-The mouth of porto bay , 3- east side of danger - in far enough to get out of the main current 4- between little wobby and Juno - just inside the marker poles 5- little patonga beach - just in far enough to get out of the current .
you don’t want your traps in the main current and don’t go away from them as they won’t be there when you return - share farmers are bad there .

    Very nice.

As I was out there Friday, and there were not too many boats about, I probably spotted your boat moving about.

I headed back just as the wind turned southerly, as had enough for a few feeds.

Thanks Yowie wasn’t many around at all it was a good day.

  5. Had to work Friday night and the weather looked favourable so thought I would get the boat out Friday morning head out about 6 wind was a bit stronger than predicted headed out to about the 60m mark wind was pushing me quickly south with only small spikes motored north toward boat harbour in about 35m got the sea anchor out to see if I could slow the drift first fish was happy moment decent size but sent him back wasn’t long into the drift and both rods went off two nice blue spots flatheads 50 & 40cm models then back to the spikes for the rest of the drift.Pulled sea anchor in and headed back to the start of the drift hoping to find the blue spots only to get one at 36cm wind had started to drop off so headed back to the mark where I had caught the three blue spots was long and the wind changed direction coming from the south so I headed back to another mark towards Jibbon beach to start another drift north using the sea anchor again to slow the drift managed another two flatheads in the 40cm range.Decided it was time to try for some squid something I hadn’t tried before headed over to little Jibbon beach in about 8m after about 4 cast bang had my first squid had one more drift without success it was time to head home. All fish were caught on soft plastics.
