the fact that fisheries in Queensland have placed a restriction on oversize fish must tell us something.........why have they not placed a max size limit on bream?...... That says enough for me!!!
Obviously this is a topic that has been spoken about before on FR and as a new member i wasnt aware, hopefully some of the new members can learn from this.

For once QLD is ahead of the rest of Aust re:
Only on the fishing front mate, everything else they are way behind!!!!

you beat me to my reply.........I guess if it was such an issue then Fisheries would implement some sort of size limit??? so until then (unfortunately) us anglers make a choice based on our own knowledge of these magnificent (female) fish!.

nice fish mate, dont forget a lot of these old garls often contain more than 4 million eggs at any one time, not to mention they taste like an overcooked rump at a cheap steak house!!!.... im not here to judge, just thought i would put it out there. Well done on the catch.

niiiice, thanks for the tips!

wow 700hrs, thats nice to hear, the control was on the old set up, but it was an extra if i wanted the new one....... loving the motor!

i shopped around and managed to get this one for 12500, i was quoted 14500 to begin with. It pays to shop around.
Im not sure on exact consumption details but in comparison, i would troll a morning offshore in reasonable conditions with the old 70 2 stroke and it would cost me about $50-$70, in the new 100 it probably used 20-30 dollars.

nice fish, would have been nicer to see her in the water though. Everyone to their own i guess.

the poly crafts are a great rig, soft riding (almost as soft as a glass boat) and hard wearing - u cant go wrong there!

Hi raiders, after much agonizing and procrastinating (and a lot of convincing/begging the wife) i have repowered my beloved kevlacat. I was tossing up between an etech evinrude and the yamaha and finally decided on the yammy mainly for reliability, resale and robustness.
Took it out for the first time and WOW is what comes to mind, i have never owned a 4 stroke and have heard both good and bad about them but so far all i have is praise for them, low fuel costs, no smell, easy starting and NO NOISE. I was at the ramp and someone asked if i was going to start my motor, not knowing it was already running!.....really pleased. Thought i would share the before and after with you all.

Hi Raiders, im heading into syd hrbr this weekend and want to use my new down rigger....... using the rigger itself isnt the problem, im just not too sure what the best way to present the bait will be? should i bridle rig the yakka or just hook it through the back??
Also where would be the best area to try this technique. I am not the best king fisho and have only landed a hand full of undersized fish on lures so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers. Bill
