  1. did u guys go prawning via boat or walking the waters with waders?

most of the people i've heard of said they are prawning, while they are on the boat at the entrance. At Windang they go into the waters, but apparently there isn't much there this year so far

We went tuesday night and they were everywhere we pulled in heaps didnt weigh or count any though you couldnt see the bottom of the bucket even if yuo tried, we walked across the sand with a prawning light and a net and just scooped them up.

  2. Hey everyone, we are on holidays at the moment at the entrance an and while we were fishing this moning we came across 4 eel tailed catfish, I have never acught these fish before and am just wondering if they are edible? Also whats the best way to cook them??

    Cheers!

  5. Hey everyone, dad and I went out looking at boats on monday and picked up this nice 01 brooker 545 cuddy cabin. this boat has massive floor space and is prefect for fishing (just what i wanted it for haha) it has a 70 horse power yamaha injected motor which the boat and motor have only done 70 hours on it! We are taking it out on saturday for a go and a bit of a fish hopefully, see how the weather turns out, we were thinking either in the georges rive or lake illawarra, i am heaps excited, we have never owned a boat before and this will be my first time fishing off a boat.

Let me know what you all think. :)

LOL cant wait getting a bit excited, also would anyone be able to tell me what type of rig they used??

    Cheers Chris

  12. Chriso,

At wingdang, go to the entrance of the lake and fish for whiting using tube worms or beach worms right at the start of the incoming tide. Mates of mine have been consecutively fishing this spot for the last 2 weeks have have been coming home with a good feed of whiting.

    Hope this helps.

Hey tumra, thanks ill try this week, but are you talking about the breakwall near windang beach??

    Cheers

  13. Hi everyone, i was just thinking about going down to windang during the week for a fish but dont really know of any good spots, can anyone fill me in on which places are best and have best results??

    Cheers Chris

  14. Hey raiders, I just recently went up to queensland for a holiday with family. While i was up there i did a little bit of fishing and purchased a new fishing rod :biggrin2: , i went and stayed at kirra beach and went fishing in collongatta in the little creeks that run off from the beaches it was great while i was up there i caught my first ever flathead and then more followed i was stoked!!! I had never caught flathead before and also have never eaten then but i would have to say it was one of the nicest fish i had ever tasted! I also did a bit of fishing off kirra beach and caught a 4 foot shovel nose ray also a first timer lol

Now my question is im back in campbelltown and would like to go fishing for flathead haha i was thiking about going to port hacking, could anyone assist with and famous spots or even different locations for flathead?? Any help would be much appreciated :biggrin2:

    Cheers Chris
