  1. Nice Sambos fellas,

Were they deep or up in the surface ?

    cheers,

    Mario

In the morning they were down deep,

but in the afternoon they were up top but pretty hard to spot due to no birds

and a slight ripple on the water,

but once again the tailors abit deeper messed it up for me again :ranting2::ranting2:

  2. Yes hes still the charter guide Chris! :risata:

Went out again this arvo with soapie bit quiet compered to this mornings sesh

but still managed to get into a few.

All up we managed 5 trevs and in one stage non stop choppers that kept on pinching my jigs :ranting2: i lost count after 11

And one decent sambo that soapie caught.

  3. Went out this morning with my brother and a good friend of ours Mani

We started by flicking some plastics around the break wall but all we managed

was a samon and two stinky pike,

Moving along we set of to our favourite drifting grounds were Mani and my bro hooked up together first cast,

My bro pulled in a decent trevor while mani was still battling away,

after a good fight i netted a good size sambo.

Then it was all on the trevors were coming in thick and fast,

all were on average size (30/35cm) got stuck into a few bream as well which was

a good change from the trevors :thumbup:

All up we managed 16 trevors 9 bream and 2 sambos ,

was a pretty good morning sesh i think now i have two go out for the arvo sesh,

ill let you all know how i went.

  5. I have been following this topic recently, and am suprised at how defensive the American Bass Boat owners/importers have become.

Harry has opened a debate which has obviously created alot of interest. EVERYONE has an opinion, and an opinion is always Bias, unless it wouldnt be an opinion.

Sitting on the fence here I think both styles of boats are great.

The importing of American boats can only mean our Aussie manufacturers will pick up their game and offer us more competitive boats without the taxes, stamp duties (not sure how much or if even applies) and import costs to be built into the margins, which we all the know the end user pays for.

I think the thought of a boat that can be found inside fishing the racks, and also being able to handle some heavy sea, catching kingies off the rocks is every fishermans dream ?

AndyH, your comments and tone of voice definately call for a response. How can you write a post like that and not be asking for a response ? Harry has not asked for your time and am sure does not need to waste your time riding your boats to

    state an opinion.

KenA, I must also disagree with you editing Harrys comments big fella. :ranting2:

Quoting from a magazine by a professional can only add substance to the debate. Rules are rules however I don't beleive justice has been done there.

It is also a pity to have a topic that has so many posts and replies being tampered with and people then not seing what was said...

Me is starting to beleive their is a conflict of interest here....

Good luck to the american boat importers, yes you have a great product and I have nothing against them, but I think you need to get on the back foot abit guys and accept peoples opinions.

Bring on the Aussie boats I say !!

  6. Went out with soapie (nick) this morning to cast a few plastics in botany.

Drifting along the runway we started to get into some trevors,

some good ones were landed and some better than average ones as well.

During the trevor mahem that we got into,i got a hit that was better than average, to my surprise a 40cm snapper  the only snapper i have caught that was jumping to the boat, up its a#@se was a king mouth open wanting breakfast.

A good ten min later i hooked up to what i thought was that king,

using 4lb mono i was loosing line pretty fast,

with nick chasing the fish with the leccy,i started gaining line and soon we had colour.

When the fish was boat side we were both alittle stunned, with nick slipping the net under it, it was one of the biggest trevors i have caught let alone seen. :1yikes:

All in all a great mornings session with a tally of 16 trevors 2 bream 1 snapper and 1 flatty.

Great work with the net nick

  7. Woke up this morning and was greeted by a stiff wind and plans to fish botany bay were gone.

After a phone call to my brother we decided to fish up river near millpera and not let the day go to waste.

Well first cast WHACK i was on to a good one, after it tried to bury me on some rocks it was in the net,

    (self potrait)

Ten min later hooked up again to another good fish, and five min after that my bro hooks up to another one, things went abit quiet due to the current ripping in but we managed 7 stud bream and 5 throw backs.

It was a good way to end the long week end. :biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2:
