  1. Gday fisho's I have noticed that the hairtail reports have thinned out ,maybe due to the cold. Are they still getting them in WB or have they moved on. Fishing offshore next week in the Mako tourney but would like to get out for a hairie session before hand. Anybody fishing from now till then for hairtail. Cheers

  2. Good luck tomorrow all fisher, hope you get on the fish. Just keep in mind that you have westerlies all day tomorrow so you may have to keep in mind that the trip home may take you 2 or 3 times longer....obviousely pending on boat size and weather. Weather forecasts are only predictions.

  3. Billseeker we had the fin up around 3:00pm and played until dark. We worked the 1500 Fathoms most the day but on the way out in the morning I had some good marks in the 500 so I decided to head back to these in the Arvo. Its Dennis mate, how is Changs, I bet he would have sore head after his Birthday weekend.

tight lines boys and as for my 1st post and replys,, i couldnt be happier and a massive 10 out of 10 to fishraider this place is UNREAL!

    till next time guys

    cheers

Mate there are some good dvd's out now and these will give you some of the basics and give you enough to get started.Dont know your situation as far as travelling and the boat you have but I too would like to know why you chose Eden there are much better spots further North that would increases your chance of a beakie ten fold. I agree with the others here that the club scene will be invaluable and a charter would also be good idea. It really sounds like your keen so if you need any more info on boat setup, gear etc you can PM me or call me on 0402473758. Good luck

P.S mate I think JB would be ideal to catch your fist beakie shelf close to shore heaps of fish great place.

  5. Definately if you have a variety of different types of cubes this does help, in fact thats how the cubing technique evolved when the netters draged in there nets they seen the yellowfin feeding on the different types of fish falling out of the nets and when the nets were being sorted the by catch being thrown over the side. Another good technique I feel can make the difference is cube at the same rate and then every half hour or so stop the cubing only for a minute or so or depending how the current is racing and the intervals you have been cubing, and what this does, it makes the shy fish that may be hanging down the back of the trail out of range of your baits, become confused in what has happened to the steady food source and usually with there predatory habit they will proceed a lot faster up the trail to investigate. Like Warnie does we use the trap and other species of fish for cubing and WA for our baits. The day before we head out we take out our cubes and baits and let thaw overnight.

    Cheers Dennis
