  1. Well after reading many reports and reading plenty of mags i finally put all that knowledge gained and took my son on his try at bass fishing, and also my 1st in a very long time as well. After a bit of walk we hit the river and started to head up stream and try a few spots as we came to them. The second stop which we had to clamber over some large rocks to get a cast in was were i finally hooked up.Using a cicada shaped lure all in black from the $2.00 bargain bins i hooked up on my 1st surface bass,1 big splash my son Tim yells "dad you got one" bit of a tug of war later had it up on the rocks not a big one but still a bass. A quick pic and sent him on his way, bush bashed our way up stream again had a few followers but that was it for the rest of the day. Have to go back so Tim can try to land one,and need to keep a look out for some more of those cicada bargain lures...........Gav

  2. A little advice here for the flying fox, dont muck about with them they can have the Australian Bat Lyssavirus, ( like rabies ) thats if u get bitten or scratched. They also need to climp so they can swoop down to get air under there wings to fly so if your in the way they will climp up you.

  3. are there are numbers on the side of the bearings?if so you could go to say bearing place like BBC bearings ( i think its called that)or do a google search on bearing suppliers. If all else fails take the wheels to the bearing joint and see if they an match'em up...................

  4. G'day all

I have borrowed my mates boat and he is useing a fuel mix of 50/1 but on the cowling it has 100/1? the outboard is a an 30 hp envirude motor so would 50-1 be ok or should i use 100/1,also while im here i wont to pump the tyres but i cant see any psi on the side walls so would say 35psi be ok (4.3 quintrex ).

  6. nice bass

I have fished there a few times and have not caught a thing,if guys decide to go up stream or down in a yak or canoe let me know i wouldn't mind joining in with my canoe, i think there is a small jeti/warf looking structure being built up past the bridge mite be ok to launch from there as it looks like there is plenty of parking.

  7. Hi all

Were is a good place to launch a canoe on the nepean other than the boat ramps?or can you catch bass near the ramps? ( near Penrith )

Last time i fished the nepean was in a tinny and we traveled a fair way (way to far to paddle)

    Thanks Gav

  8. yeah Roddy there are 2 ramps the one u spoke of ( i still remember the mud flats as well)and the other just up near the bridge, plus opposite the canoe/boat hire shed (if thats still there) or further up there is another ramp that is used by the people who live up on the river ( but you prob know all of these any way)

    Gav

( sorry could help typing that)

Well so far just in the wonni gunna hit port hacking soonish and would love to go up the nepean.

Need some more rod holders and other tweaks that i thinik would work.

Then canoe it self is all plastic and weighs a ton and its a bugger getting up on the roof racks on the 4wd by myself but i have put on some rollers on the back roof rack and it does help, i will drop you a pm when i try a trip to the port hacking river, and see if we can meet up..................Gav
