Great work champ. Must have a giant BBQ at home to cook up all those fish.
Would have gone down a treat with a little Ouzo and some Bouzouki in the background.

Excellent effort. Sounds as though you guys are the gun King fishraiders with a haul like that.
That's a lot of fantastic fillets for the BBQ.

Well done. Are your arms still in their sockets?

Awesome is the only word I can think of that will do any justice.
Fantastic effort for the Snapper.
Fantastic effort for the King also.
Lets hope this doesn't become one of those "mines bigger than yours" arguments.
Well done to the Ladies.

Funkster,
Great work on the plastics. I've tried the Squidgey's and some of the lesser known brands and you are 100% correct, THEY DO WORK.
I said it last week, the big Flatties are on and coming out to play. last week and now yours.
Better get the beer batter going.

What a beauty. I've had a fair crack at the Bay Kings and have been impressed with some smaller models, but that one would have stretched me.
Looks like its time to hit the gym and work on the arms and back if I am going to stand a chance of hanging on to hoodlum's like that.

Dusky,
Great Flattie.
By the looks of the last few days reports,2 fish at 90cm, it might be time to get out there and try for a big lizard.
They make quite impressive pictures for the album.

Raiders,
Karabouz and I took my new used boat out for the first time last night in the Georges. Wanted to see how it went and how fishable it is. Its a 1989 Savage Lancer 530 with a 90 Yammie 2 stroke.
Thought we might as well have a bit of a fish at the same time in the hope of christening the boat with its first fish.
Landed this schoolie on a blade
Karabouz also got a schoolie on one O' them there new style Octo jigs. Not through his technique though, it came on when he sat down to have a cuppa. No pics of that unfortunately ,the rubbish work mobile went flat.
Pretty happy with the purchase, and hope to increase the size of jewies soon.
Can't wait to give the boat a crack at the squid. After all, the only real way to christen a boat is to get someone covered in ink.
Here's a pic of the boat as well

Changa,
I've sought some guidance from a wise old Greek fisherman, commonly known hereabouts as RED. He tells me the name OPAH is derived from the Greek meaning "you little ripper" , which can commonly be heard yelled out loudly by persons of Greek ancestry when they are on to a good thing.
I'm pretty sure you and the boys may have yelled out your own version when you saw what you had on.

Changa,
It is a strange but beautifully coloured fish. Looks like there is enough there to keep the whole tribe fed.
Gotta put it in fish of the month, I doubt that there will be another one of them in it and its a bit of a change from all the YFT and Blue Eye that have been posted of late.

Great effort guys. Good to see the Kings in the bay are getting bigger. Hopefully it won't be too long before we have to wrestle 10 kg plus models.

Great effort mate. I have yet to get one better than 50cm or so but after reading your story, you've started the fire. I will try and get out there as much as I can

That's an awesome fishing tale. It had everything, action, drama and loss. That is truly a story to tell the kids and grand kids. Bet the Kingy went down a treat for you and the family.
The unfortunate loss of your gear must surely be a bit easier each time you remember what happened.
Memories for a lifetime.

Awesome trip Croydon. By the look of the pics and the report itself you have made memories to last a lifetime. I am hoping to get up to Gove again later this year and I hope I can do as good as you guys. Or maybe better
