Reggae, Am going thru exactly same thing myself. Currently have an ally tank and it is leaking. I wouldnt get the old one rewelded cause if it is thin enough to leak in one spot it cant be far away from leaking in another. I have decided to go ally again over stainless due to cost. I am looking at a place up in QLD to make it for me, but have you found somewhere local in Sydney to make one for you? Have you got a price - what size. Mine is 140L.
Anyone else know somewhere Nth Beaches Sydney?

I'm with Anchorage Marine. Seem to be really good operators.

I have tried many brands and now only Buy Garmin....recently i had it running in conjuction with a Furuno 585...and the Garmin 178c was showing me more then the Furuno....hard to beleive but true
I reckon it would be a great idea for a fishing or boating mag to set up a direct comparison - Garmin/Lowrance/Humminbird etc etc - all of equivalent specification/price on the one boat and check out the capabilities of each. I for one would be very interested. I personally run a Lowrance combo, but if i had my choice over would go for a separate sounder and separate GPS.

Hey Jewgaffer,
If HSM isn't interested I have a friend who is after something similar to yours. PM me with a price and I'll pass it on to her.
Cheers.

Bit the bullet and spent about $10000 more than i had planned - but am more than happy with the result. Ended up with current model Grand Cherokee that has the Mercedes Benz 3.0 engine. What a weapon - it has 510Nm of torque. Just did a trip up to Yamba and averaged about 15L/100KM towing the boat. It has heaps of grunt for hills and overtaking. I am one happy boy!!!

Hi Jewwy,
All the vehicles mentioned are Turbo diesel.

Hi all,
I have a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder 3.3 litre V6. Around town I'm getting around 18-20L/100KM which I reckon is really poor economy. Chuck my 1.5 tonne boat on the back and it gets way worse. I just did a trip down to Ulladulla with the boat on the back and the fuel bill was $240.
I'm now looking to change vehicles and I want to go diesel for the torque and economy they provide. I don't want to spend a heap of money - somewhere between $20-$30K so I am obviously looking second hand. I am after Fishraiders' experiences (good or bad) towing a sililar sized boat with the following vehicles (and any others you might like to suggest.
Vehicles I'm considering are:
Jeep 2.8L - 400nm
Pajero 3.2L - 373nm
Rodeo 3.0 - 360nm
Patrol 3.0 - 354nm
Prado 3.0 - 343nm But more than $30k
Navara 3.0L - 314nm - getting low on torque
Would apreciate all advice, experiences and suggestions.

Hi Clappa,
If you want a 4 stroke and you are considering the 115HP Suzi it might be worth having a look at the 140HP Suzi - it is lighter than their 115HP - 189Kg and the 140HP is 186Kg. The Honda 135HP is 217Kg and the 135HP Opti is 195Kg. I looked into this when repowering my boat.

Boat Hire - Forster
in Fishing Chat
Posted
Hey!
Heading to Forster for a few days mid February. I want to show my Mrs around and I don't have a boat at the moment. I know I can hire a 6hp from one of the boatsheds but I'd like to get from A to B a little quicker than that - something that at least gets on the plane. Anyone have any ideas?
Cheers
