  1. at the moment there fighting for the shooters because the shooters are loosing land to shoot on like the state forests. the shooters are also loosing there rights to own firearms. tougher laws are being put on shooters all the time. shooters are also constantly under fire from the press. illegal black market guns and shootings are put apon the law abiding firearm owners that do the right thing, and people think the law abiding firearm owners that do the right thing should have there firearms taken from them, they should loose a hobby they love doing.

the thing is nearly every law abiding shooter is a fisherman as well and they fight for both the sports they love to do. fisherman, just fisherman fight for themselves, then have a sook when a little piece of water is closed to fishing or the bag and size limits are increased. try being a shooter that just had all the state forests closed down, now lets close down the same amount of area to fishing. and turn the same amount of sea into NP as there is on land. then fisherman might have something to winge about but at the moment fisherman have it easy compaired to shooters.

shoorters are fisherman as well and fight for all out door related activities. fisherman fight for fishing and nothing else.

why dont you ask Robert Borsak and Robert Brown why they do what they do. instead of winge about it.

  2. i went with ray last year and had the same fun you guys had this year. we couldent do the trip this year because of prior arrangements but if Ray has organised a trip for next year and needs a crew, any one that wants a great trip should put up your deposit and book a spot.

me and some mates are booked in next year for a 2 weeks on the houseboat and a week reef/game fishing in cairns. we enjoyed our time that much we wanted 2 weeks on the house boat. we want to spend some time chasing sail fish on light spin gear.

we are also going to give it a go a month later when the weather is a bit warmer and with a bit of luck the spanyards are fireing.

Ray were the mackerel boats around like last year?

  3. Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to walk and fish around the entire dam?

I have never ben there but am also thinking of going and just seeing if it was doable for my young son who is 10yrs old.

    Thanks in advance.

i have walked around the dam to many times to count. because you cant fish the wall any more that takes away about 1/3 of the dam to fishing. to walk the whole thing takes me about 4-5 hrs but i walk past a lot of water and dont fish it. if your young bloke is fit he would have now worries walking it but i would make a day of it pack a lunch and some drinks and go for it. i fished it a couple of weeks ago and got 6 rainbows up to 5lb all on pink tassies they dident seem interested in any thing else. but i would try celtas as well as rapala minnow in trout pattern.

  4. went off shore on friday, took a mates new 5m plate boat out to browns to do our first deep bottom bash befor we went tuna chasing. on our second drop to the bottom we pulled up a nice blue eye which was a first for me. we done a couple more drops and my mate caught a nice one too. with 3 blue eye in the esky went for a troll looking for some tuna. we trolled east from browns for about an hour we had 5 skirts and one bibless lure running out the back when the bibless lure rod got a hit which made the lure loose its track and it hit the surface doing a bit of cart wheeling. i started winding it in flat out so i could fix it and drop it back out but it dived in and started swimming properly about 3m off the back of the boat and then all of a sudden it got smashed. well 1hr 20min later i had my first marlin at the side of the boat and to say the least we were pumped what a buzz. after a few pics we swam her and let her go. we thought it was a striped marlin because of the stripes and the colours when it hooked up. but after asking some guys and showing them some pics and the gopro footage they said its not a stripey its a blue. to top it off we were on our way back in and got a tangle with 2 of the skirts so we pulled up to untangle them and a small mako swam up to the back of the boat so i quickly put out a shark rig and in 5min i had my first mako in the boat. 3 first in the one day and a day with a good mate will be one that wont be forgoten.

  5. cheers yarraone. thats over 100 carp we have caught now since the october long weekend. also clicked over number 61 trout as well on saterday but if we dont get some rain in the next 2 weeks that will be the end of them in the small waterways.

  6. caught my 56th trout since the season opened this arveo. seems the last 2 years of wet weather and no heat have let them breed. my step mum and mates think its good they have been eating them for tea for the last few weeks and i gave a mate a few big ones for the smoker. if we get the hot summer that they think we will get then that will be the end of them so have been making the most of it. here is a couple of pics. got a lot of fottage on my gopro including some under water stuff as well but i will wate untill december and put a movie togeather when i have time.

  7. OMG WHAT THE HELL THEM THINGS ARE HUGE!! AND SO MANY!! LOL

geez mate your a weapon on those Carp do you mind letting me in on where you caught them?

Also where do u get worms from? and is it worth using a small float or they strictly feed off the bottom.

    Cheers,

    Stan

gday stan the carp were caught out of the macquarie river at bathurst. there was a rise in the river that week end so it brought them on the bite. Burrondong or wyangala dam will produce that many carp in a weekend and you also have a good chance of getting some yellas and silver perch and the odd cod to. i dig the worms in my garden but most good tackle shops should sell them. hope this helps.

  8. Hey Raiders,

Any Carp experts here? I would love to start catching Carp as I heard they fight really well plus i guess we are doing a favour for the environment.

I no nothing about how to catch them other than what ive learnt from google.

I would love to do some fishing around the penrith or parramatta area, if anyone is keen to teach me a few tricks and share a few spots it will be much appreciated.

    Cheers, Stan

not to sure about spots that side of the mountains but worms and corn are the best baits. a running sinker rig with a 1/0 hook works for me. this was from saterday of the opening weekend.
