Seriously, normally it would not hurt to have a go in October. We scored our first in October last year which was a great early start. The temp was 21degrees though, north of the "Bait Station"

However, this year with the extreme cold waters and the lack of current pushing down, I would not even consider it for some time. At this stage, it probably will not hold anything worth targetting until December at this rate.
