  1. greetings

    if your are new to botany bay, it is absolutely important that you find out that near bare island

    there is a bombora which is dangerous and has claimed many boats.

    so get a navigation chart and familiarise yourself with it.

    botany bay is a great place to fish.

    and it has got exceptionally great since the netters were closed off to it.

    all we need now, is to restrict professionals from operating outside of it.

    and to stop them getting all of the breeding bream each autumns when they go out of the bay and

    near the rocks to breed.

    regards ilk

    cheers mate :thumbup::biggrin2:

  2. I fish the bay pretty regularly, and the amount of fresh and the predicted weather for the weekend is going to keep me well away from the bay.

    Chris

    we where ment to go out up the hewksbury for the jews but wether

    so were staying local havent been out for 6 months been working far to hard and boat need a service

    so am going to the bay just was trying to see if anybody has any good and different techniques i say where

    still going if its raining :thumbup::biggrin2:

  3. greetings fish raiders

  4. evening raiders

    i agree with at every ramp around highly populated cities and erea's should be policed with boom gates

    and about 4 officers cotinuisly inspecting each boats catch when they exit the ramp. and to majority

    of us. fishing is a hobby not a living. so i agree with a 5 fish bag limit per fisho. us fishos out penrith area

    are use to catch and relise program. so we can the next day catch him again and again and again

    its all part of the fun and meaning of the sport "" Fishing."" So 100% of use fisho's like to eat our fish fresh so why dont we promote catch what we need and then catch and release its not to hard to do. so then the fish will come back in droves.

  5. greetings fishraiders

    I would have to agree with the fisheries. I like the idea of making bigger "no go" zones only because

    I went fishing with a mate for the first time on a boat. I told them its was illegal

    to keep undersized fish but he caught and kept bucket loads. This was in botany bay, where there wasnt 1 section of the bay that wasnt covered by people fishing. How many of them where catching undersized fish??? Time and time again ive witnessed fishraiders post pics of a fishing outting (1 person) coming back with like ten fish or more. I would just like to ask how many fish does it take to catch for it to be enough. This post, this debate.... i just want to say its contradictive (if all fishos get together, the state wont no what to do) to me thats why this debate is going. There is way to many of us. Take for instance how many disagree with what the japanese are doing with whaling? 100% of us?? So that would make 99.9% of us hipocrits. All fishos are "over fishers". I would like a safe sanctury for fish in the bays, estuarys and harbours. I dont care if these organisations linked with national parks and wildlife etc but all i care about making it fair for everyone and introducing "no go" zones to serve a purpose so that the next generation can do what we love to do! GO FISHING!!

    :05::1welcomeani: to the new world we have made for our selves

    with me mate i have a 12ft wilson beach rod it does the job and then i have 6ft fibre glass tiped

    rod that i bought for bargain $10 and a reel that i bought from my fish and tackle joint for $22 with reverse drag its better then a cheap reel last forever and 6pound line for the bream bass flatties I find that the

    lighter the line the better. But mate when you go fishing at anytime just ask around, fisho's look after

    each other they will tell you the good spots then a favourite comes :biggrin2::thumbup::beersmile::1fishing1:

  8. top fish mate :1fishing1::beersmile::1yikes::thumbup::yahoo:

    i guess just add a couple more to the line on this one

    you big beauty

  9. i can say a good thing about this carp thing is. the penrith council get lots out of it

    the carp found there way in to the rowing regator and the local centrelink provides

    the people to sit there and fish them. out great stuff what a profesion get paid to be

    a fisherman thats the way and the way it should be get paid

    there's a street called gowrie street park there walk to the water where there's a path all in front of you is good rock fishing there's plenty of fresh cunji for drummer and if you burley up just in front there's heaps of bream further out there's taylor and travally pilchards good for the bream great spot :1welcomeani::thumbup::1fishing1::1prop:

  12. just beautifal just the right word

    what is it that you do that i dont do right iv been trying hard in the river and still no luck

    it would be great if you could p.m me a good land based area to help out or any other fish raider

    thnx the brush :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

  13. twas a day/nighter. mate if u fish 4 kings like ur name certainly suggests,you shouldnt lower yourself to carp fishing.the reason i do is because the river is handy being 5 mins from home.

    i have caught 1kg trevally and 1 kg seurgon fish that pull harder then one of these 8kg vermon,the river is full of flies(im talking millions), mozzies that are immune to any insect repellent, the water itself stinks due to the high pollution levels,you will struggle to find a area to fish from as 80% of this river is choked with weed. and there are many deadly snakes.also ive had my car broken into down there.

    im starting to think that the nepean would be better off being concreted in.

    as a rith boy my sen mate i couldnt agree with you more with what you say here thats wy

    i chose to stop fishing in the river but six hours what a waist of 6 hours of your life mate

    i feel sorry for you 6 hours just to prove a :074::074::074::074: point

  14. p.j mate how do you do

    its bazle brush the dude that showed you the "quick way" back to the weir, we had a talk about this last time

    we saw each other and i agree with you mate 100%. mate i no this old trady that i work with he's 65 years old trust me you can tell he is the hardest man iv ever seen. he is identical to clint eastwood

    he served in vietnam if you ever ask him about vietnam he would beat the hell out of you

    and if he ever seen anybody kill anything even an ant he goes crazy. "what did that ant ever do to you mate?".... punch. We live in the west mate so the nepean river is our port hacking and sydney harbour, so we have to make the most of what we've got. catching a bass to us is like catching a snapper or so on.
