1. I also thought that the fight was closer than the scorecards indicated; Mundine clearly won the fight & was the better fighter on the night but Green tagged Mundine with some lovely body shots :biggrin2: . Mundine admitted on the footy show last night that he was feeling pretty sore so it wasn’t all one-way traffic. I also thought that the commentary team in particular Barry Michael was biased who carried on like Green was some sort of 3rd rate bum. :1badmood:

I was sick of the commentators "another bomb from mundine" if so many bombs were actually landed, quite simply green would have been asleep. Mundine used scoring shots to win but certainly didnt contain the venom the commentators went on about IMO.

Smart fight by Choc in the end.

And will do very well using the same techniques in the future, unless someone goes after his temple like previously when he was put to sleep.

thats boxing, had my doubts bout green and im from WA

  2. I'm running out of hard drive space on the IQ box, maybe I should invest in a VCR so I don't have to delete all my classic shows.

I enjoyed the preview to the 2006 season where they went over all the events for 06 and why each is going to be so good. Looks like there will be big fish caught next year with possible records getting smashed everywhere. Did enjoy Elite 50 Round 3 as well.

Bass Tech also has to be one of the more entertaining shows as well, watched them deck out some sheilas truck last week so she can travel and fish a lot easier, came up a treat, with some really good ideas, I especially enjoyed the rod lockers...... This week they decked out some guys boat, making it ready for the the Bass Tour as he wanted step it up to the next level. Unreal they added the latest sounder, done his trailer up and rewired the whole boat, new batteries and Kota as well I think. Worth watching for sure.

I hope we get more Redfish cup this year as well. Cant wait.

    cheers

  3. Managed to run a tape over the Peacock Bass tournament, and it was a great watch, it will be getting replayed on ESPN this week around midnight on Wednesday I think.

Worth taping if you have a spare tape, its the one I have previously mentioned.

Blowing rods up, everything..... its unreal.

    cheers

  4. And as per usual he who catches least catches the biggest, and near on last cast of the day.

This lil puppy went 43 and was a nice finish to our day, and I was powering off with the Kota on 10 when it decided to take an interest in Nics Vibe. Nice and fat as well.

    cheers

Well we went out on the Friday, all play and no work for once. Had sensational weather for the whole day with winds around 5knts. We fished Green Mini Vibe all day until we lost them and then the purple one.

Without doubt it was my best day on the water Ive ever had, especially with one lure. Managed 37 fish in about 5 or so hrs, whilst me mate picked up 19 (including a nice 43) We were fishing bridges and jetties, and pylons, letting it sink to the bottom and then giving them subtle 10cm lifts. If it felt like a snag or rock or anything we`d strike and usually it`d be a Bream. Average size for the day was around 35-37 and they pulled harder than any other day in the last 3 years (for me anyway). I had to go locked drag, and fish bass style and go as hard as I could.

I really am curious how these things would work over East. You guys have so much water compared to us. Im sure they would go off somewhere.

Heres a couple of Pics first is my mate Nic.

    cheers

  7. Hiya Richo, hope you dont mind me asking a question. Do u find that the colours on the Vibes come off quite easily? I've got some but havent had a chance to wet them yet, but  on some of the pics of ppl's lures, it looks like its been smashed to buggery?

    Matt

    Matrix fire away mate,

I pulled 13 in my first sess on them and it barely had any paint off it, got 3 last time out and they did more damage than the 13 the week before. I think it depends on how they are taking it. Id say the guys who have lost a fair bit of colour off there vibes would have hooked quite a few fish or had a couple swallow them a bit (therefore loose more paint).

I fish all my lures til they are bald, and even then keep going after that - and I reckon bream will take a smashed up lure over a new one most times, as it may look more wounded or sick.

R2S do have a habit of loosing more paint than most others lures, thats how it was for the static shad 60`s anyway. So it could be the same for these.

Id just get the texter out and re colour them.

    cheers

  8. Nice looking fish there too Richobull...what sort of price are you looking at for lures like those? I know a couple of places even for little old land lubbing JD that I could throw a few of those around.

    55525

    JD,

I think they go for around the standard $10 mark, most shops get River 2 Sea gear so they should be able to source some for you. Id be suprised if Mick didnt have any in ABA (worth a shot)

They are the hottest things on the market in WA at the moment. Pulled that fish from under a ski ramp. I love the green one without a doubt. They also got purple people eaters, golds and a heap of others.

Heading out Friday for a fish out of a mates Boar, will let you know how we go.

    cheers

PS, I get to see Canterbury play this year - yeeehaaaaaa, only cost me a season ticket to the Force.

  9. They're an awesome little lure and the colour in your pic' is one the best in the range.

I've used them around pylons and marinas and they're another of those lures which will get hit on the drop without really having to do anything. Just get a tight cast in, and if there's a bream there, he'll hit it.

They are a bit of a pain casting however. The hook(s) seem to get hitched up on the leader more than most lures, but they're well worth perservering with.

Interested to see you've removed the middle treble on the lure in your pic' Richo. That's something I also do and it cuts down the problem I described above considerably.

A size 14 or even 16 Owner Stinger is probably best suited to this size of lure, but I've occassionally upped mine to a size 12 rear treble with no adverse affects.

Now, don't tell anyone else about them OK? :D

    Pukk'

    55502

    Pukka,

I run size 14 owners on mine, and yeah that green is certainly the colour to have, hold it up in the sun and you can see why. We have been playing with sticky weight on the vibes to get them sinking quicker, and to allow further casts - and it has been working.

As you noticed I remove the middle treble off most lures these days, I am a sucker for punishment - but for the same reasons you mentioned, the middle treble becomes a pain, so to stop from becoming to frustrated I take them off. Reckon I loose lots of fish because of it as well....... the number Ive lost after loading nto them is probably every second fish. But its all fun. Im just happy to have something to use instead of softies during winter. Caus im not a soft plastic fishermans a#$%hole. :1clap:

    cheers

  10. GDay guys,

Just a quick note on a few recent WA captures. We have been using the River 2 Sea mini Vibes to great effect over the last few weeks, catching blackies up to high 40`s from bridges, jetties, yacht clubs, lakes - you name it.

These little suckers are going off at the moment.

We are fishing them off the bottom with little lifts, and if they dont smack it on the drop (after a lift) they nail it off the bottom.

Anyway they certainly have got me fascinated..... just wondering if you guys had much success over East with these or are chucking them much.

Heres one from a week a go, heading out friday to give them another go.

    cheers

  11. i believe as long as its legal you can do what you want with it just depends on if you are more of a C & R orientated fisho or like some food for the table..

If i was lucky enough to get a fish of that size ill send her back to be caught again but that is my opinion..

Ive got my own slot limit for all species to decide on keeping - and if they are over or under the slot, back it goes as it does if Ive got enough already or cant be bothered keepin them. A personal slot limit is a good thing.

    cheers

  12. Working tomorrow and then knocking off early to fly home for the Super 12 Final - which is probably already in the bag. Then hopefully hit a lil dam I know of which has a few bass and cod n them, hook one of them and i`ll be stoked.

I find myself a little house-bound after destroying a gearbox last weekend, which wont be getting fixed til next week, might even find time to give the boat a wash.

    cheers

  13. Id have to agree with DaveW here,

I have used the sx-40 to great effect recently and still find I do have to tune them every now and then - but the first juro I ever threw needed major re-tuning and ended up being discarded cause I was having to stuff around with it to much.

They may look the same but they have nowhere near the action of an ecogear nor do the cast as well (mine anyway). And nor is the rattle anywhere the same IMO.

But in saying how different I reckon they are, you cant hide the fact that they do catch, and I have heard more stories than I can poke a stick at about the Juros and how this and that person has been cleaning up and are now a favourite lure. I wonder if they were throwing an Eco how they would have fared.

And Dave the hacksaw will be out tonight, time to see the inside of them.....

Im and Ecogear user, and my Juros dont even get wet, even after hearing all these reports.....

And man o mighty size 14 owners would scare the living piss out of me especially after seeing the damage my 12`s cop from good fish...... I now exclusively run 10`s on the back and a debarbed 12 on the front.

And yeah you should see my tackle boxes 200 lures and middle trebles only on the new ones or specific flats lures, so about 180 with them taken off :1naughty: Ive had a habit for a while of running 1 treble - which I dont reckon made to much difference, but I have recentley been trialing the twin hook (?) owner on the front and that still leaves it close to snagless also, and sticky weight under the belly which the middle treble stickes to - seems most interesting at the moment.

    cheers

  14. I am with club marine.. When I first bought the boat the were the cheapest for me..ANd they cover for bag intake and fishing gear and so forth. Plus I like getting their magazine

    45829

Im covered by Club Marine also, is it standard for them to cover fishing gear.

    cheers

  15. Would there be any problem with chop when drifting flats with 3ft hammering over the edges of the boat - we take shitloads of water over the edge here - and with these sitting so low when fishing will they cop more? Ive been looking at the bay models on the site - they look mighty fine as well.

    cheers

  16. Not my bags, mine went 3.27 2.18 2.30 but mighty good fun, especially when all the good bags came from guys I didnt even see over all 3 sessions..... sorta tells me something

heading out to a boat yard now.

    cheers

  17. Any further developments Richo?

    45130

been asked by my dealer whos 2 hrs drive away for 3 quotes which i am doing tomorrow - and all the screws from one hinge came out of the front hatch at last weekends megabucks :1badmood: but ya get that, was worth it to see a 4.7 and 4.4kg bag.

Fished with DaveW on the last day which was mighty good fun, i think we need to go peacock bass fish fishing..... :yahoo:

but back to the boat swoffa - will hopefully have an update in a week or so - still expecting a pleasant resolution in the end.

    cheers

Have to agree with this post, Ive had a couple of dealings with Mick in the last few weeks and the service has been fantastic. And it was the initial customer service that made me come back.

    cheers
