  1. Hey all,

im going landbase fishing tomorrow, just flicking small poppers, soft plastics etc. I will be fishing the spit area in sydney. I was wondering if any one could tell me some spots around that area that are good for lures. Any help would be good. :1fishing1:

    cheers.

  2. Went down to too stanwell park this morning, tried my luck on the beach for a few hours.

the weather was great, got there at 5am. Started fishing with bait in the nearest channell i could see. Few solid bites for about 40min, but no fish landed. So i tried a small 20g chrome lure. about 5 casts i got a good hit, than the next cast the same thing. Nothing after that for about 15min. than i ended up landing a 24cm flathead on the lure. :biggrin2:. After that nothing was bitting and the tide was dropping, so i decided to pack up and go home. Anyways got one fish better than none. Ill give it another go tomorrow morning, hopefully get some keepers. cheers

  3. hey mate,

im a keen fisho and would love too hit the water whenever you want. I've owned a boat for 4yrs, had too sell due to becoming a father. That was 15 months ago.

Im only 25 but i know my fishing! I have fished all up the east coast of Australia chasing everything...or whatever i could get!

If ya want a regular fishing buddy- im keen as mustard to get out there!!! :yahoo:

  4. Went down to windang this morning with my 11yr old son in tow,Arrived just after 6am.I have not fished this area for several years and with my son with me didnt want to venture onto the breakwall.

Decided to walk the flats between the bridge and the the channel entrance. My boy was using some frozen prawns left over from a previous outing(Ill remember the yabby pump next time),while i tried several different soft plastics.

Despite all efforts though couldnt manage a thing.I had one bump and a few follows from some small whiting but couldnt hook anything.Saw a couple of fish power thru one of the small channels(appeared to be reasonable bream)with the majority of their fins sticking out of the water as it was only shallow.

Also saw a few splashes and showers of small bait fish, tried several plastics and even my stiffy popper but nothing.

Can someone recommend a spot in the Windang area that is child friendly and produces fish.

    Stephen

P.s I did however register in the competition being run in the lake for the $5000 bream, there is also 4 tagged flathead worth $500each.The competion goes till the end of february so looks like i will be fishing down there a bit more, but i think the boat might be the better option.
