I hope that's the entree and not the main !!!!!!!!

    Tuffy

That was the desert mate, we had already just gone through the flathead.... I guess it was just an experiment. Glad I did it though, tasted damn fine.

  2. :biggrin2: mate i need to see you soked one more time yet

    cheers gary

Haha, Gary I know the thought of me being wet excites you but I would prefer to be dry!!! call me and lets get it started. :)

  3. Hi Raiders, we headed outside at the crack of dawn and were greeted to wonderful seas! whilst a little wet, the sea was calm and welcoming!

Tried a few spots for snapper out around Dee Why and Curly for a couple small pannies then the rain really set in! we swapped the plastics for some fresh squid and downrigged some really good marks for zero! we then settles for some blue spot flatties at our usual spot and called it a day.

Its great being on the water when its raining, there is no one around! you would think it was the middles of the week!

About to cook up a feed! have a good night.

Here is a pic of me looking like a drowned damn rat! Garry I really need my hardtop soon mate!

  4. Hi Raiders, just wanted to share a shot I took this morning on my phone. 30Miles offshore..... like a damn lake... (just giving the boat a good run)

Wind picked up at 11ish. Nothing like spending the morning in the open sea!

    Back to work now.post-6621-012445100 1337832926_thumb.jpg

  5. nice rig mate

interesting to see how you find the new ray marine sounder

they sound pretty good i like the idea of being able to link the plotter on your mobile to the one of the boat so u plan trips on your phone and then export it to the sounder

gotta love the new tec coming out these days

Hey Simon, The Raymarine e7 is a great unit. It was a big call for me to choose a different brand as I have ALWAYS been a faithful Lowrance follower and have used them for the past 10 years!

I tried a Ray in a marine shop (on simulation) and was blown away! the crystal clear , sharp, responsive display was something I had not experienced before so I took the plunge and bought the unit. I have not been disappointed.

I love the functionality, love the initiative interface, love the speed, and generally love the look of the damn thing. I was out the other day and had the screen synced to my iPhone while i was on the bow casting SP's I was able to see what was under the boat without running to the console. Thats really cool!

I have not yet tested the sounder in deep water, so I can not comment on this yet however up to 70 meters the damn thing is clear as mud!

Great unit, good value.... Im converted.

  6. Very nice Billy.

Enjoy the new rig mate. She looks like a ripper.

One question? Where are you going to mount the video camera!? :biggrin2:

    Cheers,

    Grant.

Good Question Grant. I will have 2 Go Pros set up mate, one on the bow and one on the stern!

  7. Nice weapon Billy, you'll be able to have drag races with Jack now.. HAH!!!! :yahoo:

Haha, thanks Ray. I recon Jack will beat me though! I may use less fuel though! :)

  8. Thanks for the messages all! And for the Pm's also.

Yes, the boat is from the US, this particular model is one I have personally been searching for, for a long time.

Being around many boats and seeing a lot of American imports has given me a good opportunity to test quite a few boats and saying that, this is by no means the best made vessel to come out of the US, however it has absolutely EVERYTHING I look for in a boat which is why I bought it.

My wish list included 10 "must Haves" and this boat ticked them all for me.

    1. Center Console with a full cabin for sleeping for 2 (kids love a cabin)

    2. Closed transom ( I do a lot of reversing and hate getting my feet wet)

    3. Marlin door for easy swim access (and marlin!)

    4. Large cockpit (too many us boats push the console right to the back)

    5. Deep cockpit

    6. Flat transom with built in live well

    7. Under floor storage and kill tanks

    8. 4 stroke Yamaha

    9. Raised casting platform

    10. Alloy trailer.

I have since re-wired the boat (Thanks to nick from Wired Electrical), new Touchscreen Raymarine e Series, VHF, CD Ipod, New speakers, Brand new Alloy Trailer, waiting for my new Leaning post and prep table from the states.

Happy as a Pig right now.

    Thanks guys

  9. Hi Raiders, thought I would share with you my latest Girl, she is a 23 Wellcraft with a 225 Yammy 4.

    Cheers

Hi there, I have a 70D so if it the same this is what you need to do:

click and hold down on the "page/menu" button, hold it down for 4 seconds and a dropdown menu will appear. scroll down to "setup" its in there somewhere, i dont have the unit with me so i cant sheck, but im sure it will be in there under "units"

  11. Does that Honda come with the BLAST technology?

Would like to get some inside information on that once you use it more :)

Hi Dave, im not sure if my model has Blast technology. I have never owned a Honda in this size before and can only compare to a 4 stroke yammie

    I once had.

What I have noticed is that the Honda has a very responsive throttle across the whole rev range which is great for offshore conditions, the yammie I had was a little more sluggish out of the hole, but saying that I think it may have been a bit more "grunty" at the top end, if that makes sense.

Like I said I havent used her much, but so far im very impressed with the Honda.

    Bring on the summer days!
