  1. Hi Raiders,

This week im heading down to Jervis Bay so I think i might give the basin a try to do some landbased fishing.

Does anyone recommending any spots around the basin for some bream + flatties and an odd tailor or so?

Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

  2. Hi

As per thread title as i've a snyder rod which i fish all night with that heavy rod gives me a dead arm.

I am considering a graphite rod to cast bait out to ease the load off my arm for night fishing

    My budget is $150-$200 max.

Any recommendations/suggestions, please share your experience with your graphite rod for bait casting.

    Regards,

  3. Hi All,

Just a quick write up of this mornings trip to the Gong. Got there at 6am on the dot and the weather was great for abit of a spin...

The first cast bang on my first Bonito, secong cast bang on another, and then my two friends arrived and the fishing was on fire with bonitos going off. Ended up catching a nice salmon to end the day as the wind started to pick up as predicted...end of the day a great morning session Heaps released as well :thumbup:

Here are a few pics of the catch... :yahoo:

    Cheers LALA :biggrin2:

    Which breakwall is this?

  4. My GF and I returned from Queensland last week and fished mainly nights in lit up areas with bait present, we used glow in the dark plastic colours such as Lime Tiger and Nuclear Chicken in 3" Minnows and got an assortment of fish from Jews to Bream, to Big Eye's to Moses Perch,so plastics do work at night, others she got were Mono's and Pike. I dont think many people try them at night but they do work.

What else would you recommend for night beach fishing? ANy other lures/sp that glows?

  5. Bloody well done mate. :yahoo::thumbup::biggrin2:

If you don't mind saying, where on windang beach were you fishing, down near the breakwalls or north of the surf club, and what bait did you get him on?

I'm a local in Windang and never caught a jew off the beach or anywhere else for that matter.

    Again, well done mate.

    North of the surf club.

    I use pilchards.

G'Luck on your encounter with the jewy as it could be you next hehe.

    Regards,

    John.

  6. Hello fellow Raiders,

I was out @ Windang beach and got there around 10ish when it was high tide. No luck with the tailor as they play mind games eating the pilchard.

About 2hours into the fishing i struck someone solid on the line which has no reaction on the line as i though i caught a massive seawood or something and it took 5-10mins for me to reel it in as i struggle towards the end as I saw something silver on the sand coming in and and ran over quickly and caught this massive fish.

First time i caught something massive for beach fishing.

No idea what it was.. could it be a jewfish? What a day for the start of 2009 =]

    Regards,

    John.
