  1. Any keen fisher person living around the wollongong area that are interested in game fishing reef fishing etc send me a email tunastrike1@hotmail.com only conditions must be able to back a boat trailer or could work on that and have own gear and doesent get sea sick and share cost of fuel bait etc

  2. Proberly did the shark a favour 2 stainless hooks in the gut more than likely would have died a slow death I doubt the stomach acids would disolve stainless steel its a very tough metal. As for long liners what can you say they do alot of damage to the worlds oceans and I hope it does,nt go as far as its not worth going game fishing anymore because there,s nothing out there.

  3. Hi mate this might help you a bit I have a electric reel and I bought my rod from america there,s a company on blah blah poop called gulfsupply and go to deep drop rods it cost about 350 bucks or so and has ball bearings and roller bearings in the top runner that can be greased if your carefull when you take appart but seems pretty good so far other game rods use a bush and there,s nothing wrong with that but bearings have less friction with continuous load.

But in all that I also own a reef king alvey and I dont use the electric reel much anymore found the alvey is great just as quick and alot cheaper and give,s a bit of exercise as well hope this helps.

  4. Hi mate hope this might help a big alvey is a must I,ve tried game reels and its bloody hard going especially if there is a current or a bit of wind and you have to use really heavy wieghts and hook up on a big blueeye or something big its just to hard so alvey is the go with 150 pound braid and I have attached that to about 20 meters of 300 pound nylon trace and then attach that to the 400 pound tracees that I made up with 10 to 15 o circle hooks and like all fishing use fresh bait.

  5. Making marine parks is crap if your got half a brain the problem is commercial fishing they are shocking what they do they dont care about anything except making monie get rid of them all and I don,t care if they cant make monie like they dont care if I catch a fish to eat long liners trawlers I hope they all go broke which they will come a time its not worth going out if it keeps going.

  6. Does anybody know if marlin is ok to freeze I,ve only ever eaten a few steaks here and there and prefer to release them to fight another day because there a great sport fish and been told that if you freeze marlin its losses it eating quality and you might as well throw it away just would like to know if anybody has frozen marlin and eaten it what its like after freezing.

  7. Went to kiama canyons on wedensday trolled lures and then live baits nothing there was no bait anywhere to be found thats not to say there are no marlin out there the last couple of weeks have been really good just not for me on that day other then that we droped baits down to the bottom and caught some nice blue eye and some big gemfish and a few other deep reef fish as well so nothing on the top try the bottom.

  8. If the paint is 2pak on the boat now you can rub back with some 800wet and dry paper with water of coarse and spray 2pac onto it but if its acrylic you will have to use primer because they are different paints if the paint is old and flaking then proberly best to start from scratch with the sander with 320 on it and give it a good sand its a lot of work and then primer its up to you as for roller you can paint 2pac with anything once you mix the hardener with the paint it will go off but if you want a nice finish on your boat spraying is the only way to go hope this helps.

  9. We saw 1 of the sharks about 2ks of hill 60 while fishing the bottom we had a live bait out as well but it was heading north in a hurry and saw the other one while heading back into port once again heading north they were a bit far away to make out what sort of species they were and they were about 5 feet long.

  10. Went out of port yesterday to the fad nothing but small dolies and then trolled live baits out about another 10ks from there and got one hit but could have been anything came back in and picked up a feed of reef fish in the deeper parts and did see a few sharks around but not really interested in them.
