  1. Well I ended up deciding to advertise it on the internet to see how I would go. Welllllllllll

The boat was advertised at 8:30pm last Saturday and was sold by 10:00am Sunday morning.

I am now thinking that I should have asked for more considering how quick it went.

Only issue now is I have this big empty space in both my shed and my heart....sad.gifsad.gifsad.gif

  2. Hi, we sell alot of boats on consignment and it is a painless experience for you. If the rig is tidy and you want a fair price good boats do not stay long and selling on consignment you do not have the hassle of guys coming to your place or having to run the boat with them. Better still on consignment you do not have a guy come with his "expert" mate that thinks he knows everything but really knows very little.

PM me if you want more details,

    Cheers,

    Huey.

    Thanks Huey

I will send you a PM to go through in more detail.

  3. Fishraiders,

Just wondering what thoughts you have in relation to selling my boat?

I have been tossing up whether to put it on consignment or to advertise online. I haven't spoken to any boat dealers yet to see what sought of fees are associated with consignment and would be interested if any Fishraider has gone down this path.

  4. Don't trust standard fuel gauges and sender units.

Spend a little more and get a meter that measures the consumption of fuel with a simple inline connection in the fuel line to measure the flow.

    Accurate as then thumbup.gif

  5. Up and down actions are contolled via a relay for each movement. If you hear clicking chances are the relay is failing.

    C.

    Thanks Chris,

Do you have any idea where I could locate the relay to check?

  6. Went in it last year for the first time. Had a great time but did miss some of the giveaways and BBQ as they were on in the middle of the day when I was out chasing fish.

Won't make it this year due to other commitments but would definately go back otherwise.

  7. Update

I have just had a look after readings other posts about the trim gauge and I have located the problem with that. The piece of plastic which controls the gauge as come loose and hopefully an adjustment on the water next time will fix this issue.

I did check the trim again and the down motion works fine however the up is still intermitent, it clicks but does not do anything and after three or four attempts starts working??

  8. I have noticed after the last couple of outings that the trim up button on both the remote control and the side of the engine have started to play up.

Yesterday I noticed that the trim gauge display was not working at all neither.

Does anyone have any hints on what I should be looking for or is it back to the dealer to have it fixed?

  9. I am guessing that the 2NM rule is a belief from the authorities that people could swim back to sure from this distance?

If this is the case I am glad I have an EPIRB even when I am 50 metres from shore as I would struggle to swim that to stay alive. :1prop:

  10. Hi Dave,

Whilst not the best solution and does not utilise all of the space I found an appropriate size Plano box's that fit inside the area (560C) you have mentioned.

I have to tilt the boxs to get them past the return at the front but once in there they cannot slide forward.

I did think of getting ones that went straight in but then I would have to drill some holes etc. to stop them sliding forward however the Beer was calling me at the time.

Not the best picture but should give you an idea. You could perhaps fit another one of this size but the others I have are double height.

Thought I might also include a picture of the sinker holder. Simple to make PVC with end caps glued on and presto.

  11. Mrs Slinky had her first ever go with a carbon fibre rod and learned all about high-sticking on her first cast as she showered those around her with graphite particles... she still managed to land a nice little Spaniard.

    Great report their Slinky....

Could you provide an insight to what you mean by "High-sticking" in relation to a carbon fibre rod?

  12. Well the time has come to finally Christen the boat with its first run out to Brown's tomorrow to try and get a Tuna or two.

Hopefully they are willing to play so not only do I get my first Fin but also the boat.

Will post a report up hopefully with some nice fish in the shot as well. :1clap:

  13. Royboy

The best thing to do is scale it then take the sides off it.Vac seal it and then put it in the freezer.

The next time you head out to do some flattie fishing take it with you as this is top bait i use it all the time.

    Cheers

    Bob

    Bob,

Just make sure you don't do this in SA. Hefty fines for even using Carp as bait. Took this picture several years ago of a sign on the Cooper Creek. $150,000 fine if you are caught.

Good to see though as the whole 2 weeks was Yellowbelly after Yellowbelly.

Subject: FW: EPIRB Enquiry - vessels less than 8m

The new Marine Safety (General) Regulation 2009 was signed by the Governor and Minister Tripodi on Wednesday 25 March, and will become law on Monday 30th March. That's why you have not been able to find it on legislation.nsw,gov.au. It's only just been made.

The previous legislation that dealt with EPIRBS (which will be repealed on Monday 30th ) was the Boating (Safety Equipment) Regulation, and required an EPIRB to be carried on vessels over 8 metres when more than 2nm from shore (Clause 4A(2))

In the Marine Safety (General) Regulation 2009, the length distinction has been removed, and on its face, all vessels are required to carry a 406 EPIRB when 2nm or more from shore. (Clause 84(1) and Schedule 5 Part 1) The Fire Extinguisher requirements are listed here too and attached.

The Regulation however does provide some exemptions (Schedule 5 Part 2 - Clause 4) being for PWC, Kayaks, and Canoes (but not outrigger canoes)

The legislation quoted above is attached for you.

You should also be aware of a press release issued by the Minister on Jan 21 2009 in which he advised that boaters not carrying an EPIRB when required would initially be given a warning rather than a fine, due to a worldwide shortage of EPIRBS, as long as the boater can demonstrate that they have placed one on order. The press releases are available on the front page of the NSW Maritime web site (www.maritime.nsw.gov.au) Click on "more news" to see the older ones.

    Hope this helps

    Cheers Warnie

    Warnie,

You mentioned that the legislation quoted is attached but I can't see it anywhere??

Could you please put a link to it?

  16. Raiders

I have about 10 sash weights laying around that need to go i would like to see them go to a raiders before the tip. They are different in size but some could be cut to give you 2 sinkers for browns.

These are for free but pick up only.

    cheers

    bob

    Hi Bob,

If they are made from lead I would be happy to come out over the weekend and collect them.
