  2. You can fish landbased or we can list you as wanting a spot. Some members have spots available on their boat I believe.

I'll list the three of you as looking for spots on a boat. We can ammend it later if need be.

    Hello there mate!!!

I'm would really like to enter this event, I have 2 other friends who would be intersted (they are also member) but cant get in contact with them yet to confirm

I wanted to know though, are we able to enter the event as landbased competitors or do we have to be in a boat? or is there some room in any boats for us?

Thanks buddy, really looking forward to it!

  4. Ok all budding Sp FISHOS,

I am tentatively making the date for this workshop on the 7th Dec 2008 which is a Sunday.

Venue will be Hen and Chicken Bay at the end of Burwood Road.

Time would be 11 am till 6 pm as the high tide is around 3 pm and that will give us a chance at catching a few fish as well.

I will be trying to get a few of our better Sp fishos to give tuition and help with all aspects of this form of fishing and once I have some more info ,we will post it up as a definiate day.

More info to come in the next few days.

This day will be boat and landbased sessions.

    Regards Admin

Great catch you got there guys!

Been fishing Garee for the last month and it produces awesome salmon, my mate has even caught sand flaties from there.

as for me well sat is family day then sunday meeting up with a few raiders for a blackfish bash....

good luck to all wetting a line out there...

    cheers....steve......

    hello there roosterman :biggrin2:

    How are you?

Me and my mate yesterday bought gear for chasing black fish, brumers etc

This Sunday we are attempting to try out our toys for our first Black fishing session. we are thinking of heading to Kurnell or around la Perouse.

I was wondering if you are fishing close to any of those areas? It's just that you sound pretty experienced at this and if you are fishing around that area I was wondering if we could meet up with you guys? If it's going to be to crowded then that's absolutely understandable. We can always do it next time.

    Cheers mate

    and go the chookies

  7. Hi Raiders, just got my new Daiwa Sol 3000, got it for our (Hutcho1 and I) trip to Broughton next week, goona load him up with 5 or 6kg braid and stick it on my new custom built 6-7kg rod, can't to use hopefuuly on some nice little snapper... I'm stoked.. Cheers....

Congratulations on your new toy :biggrin2:

and hope you catch many delicious fishes with it

  8. Hello again

It sounds like a lot of patience is required for LBG…but I can only imagine the great feeling you get when that nice big Kingie or Marlin get’s caught!

Thanks for those spots you recommended Brickman, Ill try and get magazines or books that give me tips in fishing on those locations.

When I catch one…Ill post the pic and you will be the first person I thank. :biggrin2:

LBG looks pretty dangerous too so I imagine is should take the same precautions as rock fishing?

AJ I think we are going to have to take a trip to the Toy store something soon man!!!

Thanks again guys for your help

  9. Hello there fishraider :biggrin2:

I have recently found out about LBG fishing and I’m very interested in giving it a go.

So would there be anyone that can give me a bit of knowledge about this exciting method of fishing.

What I would like to know is firstly what equipment do I need for LBG? I have a 12-20kg, 2.1 meters 1 piece rod at home with a spinning 7000 Odyssey reel (50 pound braided line). I’m guessing I need to change the line to prevent it from getting cut off in the rocks.

What hooks and sinkers etc do I need?

For bait I have been told that live bait is the best to use, what other bait is suitable?

I have also been told that fishing in the Tubes JB is an awesome place for LBG, but yesterday I got told by someone else that the tubes have been closed for a year now due to people littering. If the tubes are closed for LBG, what other locations do you guys recommend?

Thank you in advanced for all your answers and hopefully when I give it a go I get luckier then my attempts in beach fishing and Hawkesbury river fishing.

From an enthusiastic learning fisherman :1fishing1:

  10. Hello there fishraider

I’m new to this website, actually not that new...i have been to scared to ask questions :(

This Saturday morning I will be fishing Narrabeen beach fazing the cold weather.

Me and my mate will attempt to catch live bait and use it to catch a nice big fish (at the moment I don’t care what I catch, as long as its legal size and tasty)

My question is, what is the best way to burly the cost so I can attract the big fish? :1fishing1:

I'm challenging the weather so I can practise now, for when spring and summer comes along I will hopefully have more experience!

    Cheers
