Some of the better snapper we have caught on plastics is as soon as the lure hits the water it has been taken and this is in 20mts to 30 mts of water. Usually around baitish as well.

Trolled at J B for 6 hrs aswell for nothing.

I get jealous. Then i think if there is 1 marlin maybe there is another 1 somewhere down there, but i still get a little bit jealous.

Dead quiet again off J B on Saturday.

The weather looks good this week.There is good water right in near Sydney so when i,m looking for marlin i look for bait and just hang in that area all day. I find 23 degrees is my ideal temp for stripe marlin. Around 65 fathoms is a good depth to fish only if it is safe to do so. A good sounder and gps helps to find the bait and to stay in that area as well. Stripe tuna or slimies are the best bait to find.This is only my personal opinion.

Im sorry, but i had many 2 strokes and now own 2 hondas, one that has 1800 hrs on it. I would not buy a 2 stroke again if i had to get another motor for a fishing boat. This is just my personal opinion. More power the better depending on weight aswell.

I went surfing today and it was huge. Take care if you,s go out and don't push your luck just for a chance to maybe catch a fish.

Try fishing the last 2 hrs of the runout tide on a real low low, that coincides in the late arvo. Somewhere there is not too much disturbance from people is a advantage too.

i have had 2, 80 stand ups for 12 years and there built on sabre blanks and i got them built as short as i could so they were still legal for any records or comps. There straight butts and usually knock over a 80kg marlin from 15mins to 40 mins max. They have caught dozens of bronzies as well.i havn,t broke one yet,,Ive been very happy with them.

What are you fishing for, a 80 is a big reel to hold up for long periods, but im only 70kg as well, and a bit soft aswell so my wife tells me.

I have a small boat and if venturing out wide is not go by what StessL72 has said, JB hosts another type of beast.
50lb minimim braid. 80lb flouro leader and a nice big livie. Downrig this around the cliff faces and get ready to loose a lot of tackle from huge bustoffs
It's certainly a lot of fun!

Albacore love the smaller lures around 100mm jetheads and divers in size and yellowfin will quite often grab them as well. 8 knots is a good speed to tow them.
