Still have my original 6 inch cedar spool Alvey. A great reel for the surf and rocks. Since then have also acquired a Blackfish special and a smaller estuary reel.
Somehow ended up with a spare cedar spool that does not fit my one. I understand that they are a bit of a collectors item. If someone needs a cedar spool I will take some pics and measure it and if it fits your old Alvey you are welcome to have it.
Cheers
Paikea
I would be more than happy to buy the spare spool.

Hey Guys,
I'm wondering if anyone can PM me a good mobile boat mechanic for the CBD/Inner West area. I'd love to take it to the site sponsor but unfortunately, our trailers lights have completely blown and we don't feel safe driving the boat all the way up there without a working trailer(not to mention the likely hood of getting fined). So any help you guys could provide would be amazing. It's just a 3.7m stacer with a Mercury Seapro so nothing too fancy.
Thanks

I have a light board you can borrow so you can tow your boat to the shop if you like.

Thanks for the speedy replies lads,
Here's hoping it's just a case of over-lubricating, a quick look at the Daiwa schematic tells me that no particular bearing is designated at the 'anti-reverse bearing' but hopefully it will all become clearer once I crack it open. Shall let you know what I find.
Thanks again,
Adam.
it will more than likely be called a roller clutch so look at your schematics again and you will find it.

ARGH this is driving me crazy, you both have valid faults, And ive just left my boat for the day, I will be going back tomorrow.
I checked the carby butterflies they are clean as a whistle, could not believe how clean it was. Im also thinking of checking if I have oil fouled the spark plugs, I use a 25:1 oil/fuel ratio.
But next couple things to check are mentioned above, will continue investigating and informing you guys, thanks again.
why are you do use 25-1 fuel mix it should be 50-1,
