  1. G'day guys,

I've just been looking over those maps, and there's some really great info there...thanks heaps. :)

I was wondering if anyone has fished the bay and/or clyde recently? Just after some feedback on what the fishing is like at the moment. I've got the marine park map, so we dont get stung.

We're heading down there this weekend for a week of camping etc, so any thoughts or ideas would be great.

    Thanks heaps.

    Shnappa.

  2. Well Im extremely excited...just picked up my new rod/reel combo...a Shimano XTS 732 snapper rod (6-8kg) plus a Sienna 4000FB reel. Both for $100 from Amart. Not a bad buy I reckon.

Plus managed to score a Berkley flatty pack (sp's, jigs & dvd) for $20.

4 x neptune tackle mighty minnows (hb) 65mm/10g slow sink lures & a trout minnow 50mm/4g (hb also)

    A kokoda gold G-vibe deep 17g

    1 x Spanyid Raider 10g, 1 x Spanyid Raider 20g & a Spanyid snier 15g slugs.

    Total cost $150.

Ok, now what I need to know is have I wasted my money on any of this gear??

Your thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated! :)

    Cheers,

    Shanppa.

  3. We made a donation of $500 to the Kayakking for Kemo Kids foundation - for cancer research in children with Leukaemia.

I just want to say how immensely impressed & overwhelmed I am at this generous donation...one of my friends has a 2 yr old girl who is undergoing treatment etc for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at Royal Syndey Childrens Hospital. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone at Fishraider for showing how truly magical & amazing some people can be, you guys really are angels on earth!!!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

  4. Hi guys,

We're heading up to Port Stephens in about 3 weeks & wondered if anyone could give me some good spots to try out...beach/rocks & offshore.

I've heard just off Fingal Bay or up near Broughton Island are good spots offshore, but any other suggestions would be great.

    Cheers.

    Adz.

  5. If you're keen to get away....far, far away then check out the following link:

    http://koala-shores-holiday-park.nsw.big4.com.au/

We've been here 4 times in the last 2 years & nothing beats it (yet). Plenty of room for either camping or vans. There are onsite cabins etc as well.

5-10 minute drive to the boat ramp & jetty at Port Stephens & approx 40 minutes from Nelson Bay if you're keen for some whale watching.

    Thanks to Fishing Monthly Reports:

    http://reports.fishingmonthly.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=2982

    Estuary:

A few whiting hanging around the Shoal Bay jetty, plenty of trumpeters in the back reaches, Taylors Beach, Mud Point. Good bream off Oakey, Rocks Awash and North Arm Cove leases. Blackfish still solid off both walls and the jetties. A few flatties turning up in the Myall and the Karuah. Kings still on the breakwall.

    Beaches:

Salmon galore and they’re getting bigger and bigger. Stockton also has a few bream; bream on Middle Rock at Samurai, a few flathead on Grannys. Bream under the green hill at Fingal.

Salmon on all headlands, tailor One Mile and Sunny Corner, fair run of pigs on the south side of Boulder Bay through to Rocky. Blackfish at Honeysuckle and Tailor Rock. Bream around Fingal Island at the Grit Hole.

    Offshore:

Snapper up in the shallows at Broughton and the Breakers, a few kings around the Esmerelda Bommie and the front of Fingal Light. Flathead on the Little Island drift. A few jackets out on The V and yellowfin on the shelf when you can get there.

  6. Hey raiders,

Wondering if anyone has been fishing port recently - want to hit the deeper reefs and Seal Rocks.

If anyone has any pointers or is willing to share any marks of bommies, deep reefs, tips for Sealy etc would really appreciate it as havent fished up here from my boat before - always been on charters which just isnt the same thing..

Want to target big kings / snapper and will be up there in September.

    cheers

    Andy

    Hey Andy,

We're heading up to Port Stephens (Lemon Tree Passage) from 27-30 Sept & would be keen to catch up for a fish as well as find some good spots for next time we head up that way.

    Let me know.

    Cheers,

    Shnappa.
