I see you have the "Andrew's Fishing" baby reel seats.. I have a couple of those but they don't fit the reel foot on my 1000's. There is a significant gap between the hood and the timber barrel. Did you cut yours down? If not, what reels are you using.
I've got Diawa Revros 2006's on all mine they fit pretty nice. I had some Quantums that didn't fit well but taped the ends of the reel seats and they came up nice and tight.

Missed this one - been a bit slack
I've got custom grips on all mine, dual cork with a timber insert as below.
The only different one is the 'rod wrap' that sits directly onto the cork. I quite like it but it is a freaky feeling when it flexes to a big fish! This rod is a loaner from Ian.................. that I've managed to hold onto for 3 or so years
It's a very lucky one and has pulled 3 Bream over 2kgs. -

Since your question was about Bream Busters Ian will build whatever you want in terms of guides - my personal preference is for a Silicon Titanium stripper and tip with REC guides in between
No one other than Ian knows where the blanks are custom built for him and to his specifications.
There's VERY few australian rod builders that get their blanks purpose built for our conditions, most are doing their best with blanks designed for the overseas market, or general purpose. Not that there is anything wrong with that, there are some very gifted builders out there.
My advice would be to play with plenty of different styles from as many companies as you can before outlaying the folding stuff - a custom rod certainly isn't cheap.
My favorite is the Ultra Finesse, nothing casts light weights further

I have a 24 foot Mustang boat, that sits on a Belco dual axle trailer, and has an Electronic Hydraulic Braking System (Ausco), which has failed on me...
I need the whole brake system replaced, which includes the electronic control unit that sits inside the car.
I've been searching and ringing around to countless trailer manufactures and such and haven't been able to find someone that can replace the brake system for me...
Does anyone know of a reliable guy able to do this for me around Sydney, prefferably Western/Northern Sydney...

We've got a house down their too but In Lake Conjola and I'll have to concur with the Steps, Rocky Points, Bellingen and sandy's as being the places of choice. Poddy's are fairly easy to come by too if your chasing livies.
DaveW - at christmas I made my way up past Fisho's and up the creek that shoots off to the right and hit that bridge....no success but thought i might be getting up in to EP or Bass territory. Have you heard or seen or even caught any whilst down there? I didn't know how much further i could keep going and whether there are too many submerged strustues etc.
Also at the fork just past fisho's where it goes left (and i went right), it looks like it opens up but I got the felling it might be fairly shallow?

There are Bass in there but VERY few and far between. I have also caught a handful of EP's over the years but again pretty scarce. If you were kayaking you can go a long way past the bridge (pretty much to the highway), but not much further in the average boat.
On the left it's just a big shallow flat. Plenty of old timers sit on it for Flathead and do OK.

I spent three days down there last week with the family (we have a holiday house at Fishermans Paradise).
In the lake proper, basically if you drift with deep jigged plastics along shorelines in the 10-20ft range you will catch as many Flathead as you want - my 4yo daughter got her first fish doing this and I can guarantee there wasn't much finesse involved
I targeted Bream with lures around rocky points and had a ball releasing a heap of good fish.
Conjola Creek has plenty of snag dwelling Bream, there are some very big resident fish that are a handful to stop.
With the stopping of the professional netters the lake just keeps getting better

I was looking at the same option a while back, looked at tons of hulls and kept coming back to the Haines 1600/1700 series (some of them are 's' models). I even think the mechanic at Yabby marine has/had one for sale.
Very nice hull, fairly stable for that kind of boat and goes like the clappers........... I want another way, but for around $15K or so (and a LOT of hard work) you'd have a beast that would compete with the best of them.

Yammy was doing a pilot program for it a couple of years back - I had the offer of it getting done for nothing but never got around to gettting it done.
It's offered as an option by quite a few dealers now, no idea about the cost though.
My opinion - it should be free and compulsory for all manufacturers

The 'Redback' pattern was an old fave for Flatties, and the 'Carp' used to consistently perform on Wyangala's trout population

One thing to watch with the Silverwater ramp is the low on big tides - you just won't get the boat in OR out!
Otherwise it's all good - I use it all the time, but listen to Pedro when he say launch on the downstream side

I was lucky enough to play with this marvel of modern fishing technology last night........... STUNNING
I can't really say anymore, just get one in your hands and try it out - the price doesn't seem so bad after that

I suppose technically I'm fairly regularly over the weight limit - the Poly handles it very well!
To date, I've never heard of a Poly cracking/breaking - trust me when I say if they were going to crack I would've cracked mine long ago
Just as a bit of general info, there's nutcase wakeboarders in Brisbane running 4.55 quickcrafts as cheap wakeboats.
They put 90's on the back (well over HP rating), fill the hull with 200l of water (well over the weight levels) and pull 2 wakeboarders on them! Imaging the transom stress pulling them out of the water, but I'm yet to hear of a breakage!

Not a problem Ben, I would hate for anyone to get the wrong idea about these ripper little boats.
We'll have to agree to disagree about the 30hp minimum, I really don't think people will be happy long term with it - of course this is my opinion only.

Ben obviously you sell the product, therefore you must vigorously defend any statement likely to reflect some of the less obvious factors to owning a Poly.
I personally know of 3 tiller steer Polys purchased with 30's on the back that have been upgraded to 40's, and at least one Side console purchased with a 40, upgraded to a 50.
For everyones information, Ben sent me a PM asking that I:
rethink your statement that your 50 sometimes struggles on your Poly 4.1Well, I've thought about it and it's still true........ I will not give misleading information about the Poly's, especially when there are at least 20 anglers who have experienced it on my boat - I will not be a hypocrite.
However, I will clarify my statement. What I said was:
when I really load mine up sometimes the 50 tends to struggleI didn't say that it struggled all the time, or often, or occasionally - I spoke the exact truth, when I REALLY load mine up SOMETIMES the 50 tends to struggle.
Here's the scenario with my boat when it struggles:
2 anglers - 200kg (I'm not a little lad).
2 full fuel tanks - 50kg
2 full livewells, 120litres total - 120kg
Full competition fishing tackle assortment - at least another 50kg between 2
So, we have probably around the 200kg mark that the average fisho wouldn't be carrying, a hell of a lot more if you include my electric motor and whopping big battery to run it (40kgs).
ON TOP OF THAT, my boat is propped for as much top end speed as I can get within the allowable rev range. This also adds to it '"sometimes struggling".
I have a smaller prop that I can put on, and with it I never have a problem, even fully loaded as described.
With my comment about the 30 being seriously undergunned, I'd like to change it.
In regards to the 4.1 Challenger in my humble opinion a 30 HP motor is the bare minimum you would put on this hull, not enough HP if you intend to carry a fair bit of gear, and seriously undergunned if you run max weight as I've described above.
I retract my statement in regards to the 4.55 Quickcraft, as I haven't spent enough time on one to comment further. I will say that it is 25-75kg heavier than the 4.1 Challenger depending on configuration.
I am more than happy for anyone to contact me about the suitability of Polycrafts for their use, and quite willing to take anyone out for a run if they are interested - in the same sized boat the ride and handling speaks for itself and you would never go back to alloy.

Guys, you know I love my Poly, but a 30 on either the 4.1 or 4.55 would be seriously undergunned.

The locals around Cottage Point look very unkindly on Groper poachers - the fish are like family pets.
I got yelled at 4 times in one pass from various individuals "don't you kill that Groper"........... I was Bream spinning, wouldn't have minded hooking one for all it lasted

I've done roughly 50000 k's in the past couple of years with my Durahubs. Topped them up with a tiny amount of oil once about a year ago and they've never given me any issues at all, can't rate them highly enough.
