Kingfish.... again..... everyone wants kingfish.... 😄

Alright. What are you planning to use? I use flutter jigs, slapstix (sluggo type lures) and 3 inch minnows to chase the kings.

The challenge with Middle Harbour shore based is finding spots where you can get down to the water to cast, are likely to get kings coming through and are not likely to get snagged up.

We used to use the two pontoons outside the Mosman Rowers at Pearl Bay at the bottom of spit bridge. The only reason these are here are for the rowers. In general we managed to have a good relationship with the rowers by cleaning any fishing shit left behind by others, getting out of their way when launching or landing and helping them where we can. Not a lot of snags in front of this but if you hook up the boat moorings can be a challenge.

Sangrado street pontoon was another where we used to find them. The baitfish they were feeding on were not big hence we used minnow type soft plastics.

Another place you can access the water is the stone jetty at the bottom of Willis road, Castlecove.

I think you are better off fishing wharves in Sydney harbour.

Hope this is sufficient information to get you on your way.

      Derek
