Headed down to Narrabeen yesterday evening for a fish in the lake .
Started fishing about 7pm . Live beach worm straight on the hook , first cast . Bang ! Onto a whiting just under legal 25cm
Seemed to be the story of the whole night . Fished till about 12 pm & ended up with 10 whiting between the 2 of us . 6 on my behalf & 4 on my mates . All around the 23 - 25 cm mark
Good fun on real light gear !
No keeper fish but still a great night
Just out of curiosity can anyone help me out as to why we couldnt get into any of the bigger ones ? Or couldnt get into any flathead . My last 2 whiting that I caught were on whole prawns .
Cheers

Hi Rhys, your mate sure was funny when he won the boat and they said to produce 3 forms of id(with tongue in cheek) and he started to fumble around with his wallet even though they kept saying they were joking. Congratulations to your mate hope the boat brings him a lot of enjoyment.
Regards Jeff
Yeh . He was over the moon ! Haha .
Could barely speak . But good on him & Im sure he will

Sounds like you boys had the bad luck like we did
We had to do 6 trips in total . Penrith To patonga Boat problems :/
Dissapointing weekend regarding the fishing .. But still a weekend on & around the water , Camping with the boys beats anything else
-
I fished it .
& Yes winner was 13 . 7 Kg Jew .
Had a rather dissapointing weekend with boat problems . All up 6 trips there and back from Penrith to Patonga Getting boats fixed & then eventually swapped:ranting2: ]
Bad luck for the weekend . But my mate that came with us in the comp ended up winning the lucky door prize . He was absolutely speechless about winning the boat as you would .

Having just bought a3.5m rib I was thinking of taking it out on Saturday. Planning on putting it in at Appletree bay (Bobbin Head) Will this boat ramp be very busy due to the Hawkesbury classic ? I have only launched it once before and I dont want to get in the way at a super busy boat ramp.
It might well be abit busy . But then again im not sure as the comp starts Friday Arvo .

I will be in it with my Uncle & a couple other guys .
Should be a good weekend & at this point in time might be the first year in a long time that it wont rain
Goodluck to everyone participating

Hey guys
Im heading down to the local fishing tackle shop shortly to go and buy new tackle .
I am mainly going down to buy some soft plastics & I was just wondering if anyone of the site may know which ones are working best for Flatties of late & Also what size jig head etc .

I was down there today , on a boat . Didn't catch anything . A couple of good hits . But then again we weren't really out there planning on catching any fish . We just went out there with my Dad & Uncle just taking my 2 younger sisters out for a bit of fun around lunch time to give them a little bit of a taste in fishing
But absolutely love Windang . Never been let down there Always pull out a few decent flatties
& Also congratulations on the catch mate .
Cheers , Rhys

I was down there Tuesday & Wow I saw some big carp .

And how did you go mate?
Yeh sorry about that . The rest of the report is up now . Not to sure what happened but when I was a quarter of the way through typing the report , It posted
Im Also adding a photo of the bass my mate caught up now .
Unfortunatey we didn't have anything to measure the bass before we put him back in the water

Went down to the Nepean River today to have a flick around with some lures for Bass with a mate .
As I don't normally fish freshwater . This was all a very new experience for me . Im used to saltwater fishing. Get some bait on the end of the hook chucking it down & just sitting there & waiting for the fish to come to me
We headed down at around 8.30 am & Started up towards the M4 bridge . With no luck after trying a number of spots .
After that my mate suggested we head down towards the weir to give that a crack at some spots he knew down there . We went down there & Had a go at the spot he said looked like a great spot for bass & Bang ! Within 2 minutes of being in the water . He got a hit & Landed one .
Unfortunately that was the only fish we managed to get for the day . But it was still quite enjoyable & It turned out to be a nice day once all the clouds cleared away .
Atleast the fishing season is back & I can't wait to get into it all again But I think I'll stick towards Saltwater fishing as Im a bit better at that lol .

Thanks for all your information guys
& Yeh . Im definitely up for abit of a walk from a station . Or a bus trip . It's just at the time of posting this topic all I was thinking about at the time was the Train Station Right on the water front at Brooklyn / Mooney Mooney . ( Not sure Which station it is )
& Atleast you boys out Parramatta way have half an hour off you train ride compared to me out at Penrith , All though Catching a train really doesnt bother me . I enjoy sitting there , Relaxing , Listening to some music
Cheers , Rhys

Hi Everyone . I am just looking for some good fishing spots that are not to far away from the Sydney area . That are not to far away from Train Stations .

Hi Everyone
Headed out to Greenwell Point 2 weeks ago With my uncle ( Sorry for the late post )
We first started off by heading outside . As we were heading out it all didn't seem to bad , The swell wasn't to big .
We got to our destination and had decided to do a drift towards the beach . When All of a sudden in the blink of an eye , the swell had suddenly picked up . We had continued to fish for a little bit longer . When we decided it was getting abit to rough and headed back in to the estury .
We did a few drifts in there . Just as you come back in through the bar .. & I had managed to pick up 3 nice sized flounder , 2 Undersized Bream , & a just undersized whiting
All in All , It was a nice day on the water , Even tho we didnt catch anything major . It was still good to get back out there Havent been fishing in about 6 months & havent been back on the site for quite some time to
But now I am back
Sorry , I didn't manage to get any pics
Cheers , Rhys

Sounds like you had a very good weekend . My uncle caught a 69 cm flattie weighing 2.5 kg . I'm not sure what he came in the weigh in tho .
