  1. Yeah well I just cleaned it right out and filled it with you Knead it. sealed it with a crap load of marine silicone if it holds for a few years I will be happy, its still very strong and is never in open choppy water only still fresh brackish water.

I agree its not the best avenue but but at the end of the day with close monitoring I'm sure it will be fine for a while.

    Cheers for the input.

  2. Thanks for all the replys,

It does only have an 8HP on it, and used on flat water (Clyde River)

I will be doing the marine ply accross the back on the inside and a smaller part on the outside, Im also going to fill the holes and paint it to slow the process a little.

I'm sure it will be fine for a few more years. (Hope)

  3. Hey Raiders, I purchased a little 11ft flat bottom punt the other month cheap with a motor and have some corrosion work to do, I done the bung because a lot of water was leaking through there but after more coming in behind the engine board I decided to rip that off and have a look and was I glad I did, Holes everywhere haha!

Advice I need is, I can only access one side of the aluminium that corroded so what should I do? the back part on the outside is welded on. should I cut it off to fix it propertly?

What should I use to seal the holes, I was thinking about some kind of filler, sand that prime and paint? then put a new motor board on.

Any help with someone who has been through this before would be awesome, I don't have any money to take it into a boat repear joint.

I did serch through the forums but come up with a lot of mixed idea's.

    Regards

    Hushy.

  4. Has anyone been down to the Murrumbidgee River part that runs through Canberra at all lately?? Reason I ask is I want to know the condition of it, Is it high and flowing hard or are you able to cross at the shallow rapids?

    Cheers.

  5. Doing a 7 day drive from Sydney up to just past coffs in a couple of weeks and wanted to get anyone's willing opinion on places to check out and also good quiet camp grounds.. Will be taking my Kayak that's good for calm waters, and also my rock fishing and Bream/Bass gear. Main fishing I do is Bass / Kings / Pelagic Rock spinning

If anyone here lives near Coffs and knows some good Pelagic platforms

  7. G'day guys, happy new years to you all!!

Just a quick little post about fishing Botany Bay today. We hit the water about 5 with plans to start at Moll point for a couple of kings, and hopefully get a mate his first. It didnt take long for him to get one to the boat, followed by a couple from myself.Another mate was having a shocker, but he did manage to get a decent lizard to the boat.As the tide started to flow out, what little action there was started to taper off, with not even a follow on our plastic. We then decided to have a crack at the Salmon school that had busting up all morning a bit further out.On closing in on the school,we realised that it was a pack of King's feeding. We stopped the motor, then all hell broke loose!!It was mayhem for a good 45 min.I finally broke my 'King on popper' duck, with 2 in 2 casts, and the other 2 blokes hooking fish on plastics. All the King's we got were rats, but still fun on light tackle!Thing's slowed up for a bit with only a few small Bonnies hooked, till we made the decision to hit the Bream up on the flats.I got a few Bream on hardbods, and a decent lizard which inhaled my lure, shredding my leader just as she slid into the net, thank god for nets!I didnt wanna loose another hardbod, having lost a $25 lure to a solid bream a few cast beforehand. :mad3:

So 18 King's,4 Bonnies,2 lizards and 5 Bream, pretty good way to see in the new year i reckon

    Cheer's

    Adam.

Good to see the rat lord got into some fish!! 5am we were still a mess at my house haha... Good to see the Flatties aren't scaring the kings away this year :yahoo:

  9. Finally got the photos back from High-speed-metal. As well there were a couple of trevs and a pinkie. Just dont mention "wrasse" as that was all he could catch that day :1badmood: . They fight like a pinkie for the first 5 sec and then .....nothing.

Take it easy, I did manage some other junk fish apart from Wrasse as well haha....

Heres that High Speed Metal Salmon I got.

  10. hehehe I never get sick of watching that vid! I was wondering if he was for real or if it was all staged ..... but reading the comments below the vid, he is just a clutz!!

    Roberta

Hahaha I hope its staged Roberta! He has some small problems if its not hahaha...

  11. Anyone else noticed the large amount of phosphorus in the water at present or is it just localised to small part of Central Coast ?

Went out last night for a fish and the waves breaking were glowing bright green, even when casting and the sinker hit the water it was a flash of glowing green.

Anyone got any ideas of why and how this happens, naturally occurring or man made run off (pollution)??

Does it affect whether or not the fish are biting or maybe fishing is better?

    Cheers,

    Leo

I also see this inside, I take the yak out at night a lot and around the bridges it looks unreal...

What is the cause of it??? Looks great when you catch a fish on it..

  12. Recently got the flick from my work with a bunch of other people, knowing that there is not much work on the Central Coast I though I would see if any fellow raider's Have or know of any work around at the moment. you can Msg me for my contact... Have mainly worked in Warehouse Distribution, High reach forks and so on, But I can do anything.

    Cheers

    Shannon.
