  1. Hi folks,

I was away on holidays for 6 months and when I came back recently my Boat Trailer ran out of rego.

I went to the RTA yesterday and I was issued with a certificate to get s Blue Slip inspection done for the trailer.

Due to work commitments I cannot find the time to take the trailer in for a inspection unless it is after hours. Does anyone know if there is a mobile mechanic who does blue slip inspections in the Canterbury area?

    Thanks

  2. Raiders,

This question has probably been asked 1000 times though after going through 20 pages on the boating section as well searching i cannot find what i am looking for.

Would like some information on stores across Sydney who stock quality batteries at fair prices. Cant seem to find adequate stores searching in google.

Recommendations on brands is more than welcome.

  3. Raiders,

  4. Hi Raiders,

  5. As we are awar there are numerous amount of knots for tying Braid to Mono.

What are your preferred knots for tying Braid to Mono in the 10-20 pound range as well as the heavier lines?

Does anyone use the GT Knot and if so what are your thoughts?

  6. Hi people,

Im after some information in regards to fishing Port Hacking/Bate Bay.

We rarely fish these waterways but will give it a shot next week.

Can anyone steer us at some spots where we could find Red Rock Cod, Gurnard and Flatties?

We are fishing out of a 5 metre run-about. I have heard of Osborne Shoals and Merries Reef and some people have said it can be dangerous in some conditions, can someone elaborate on this!

    It would be greatly appreciated!

  7. Hi raiders,

Yesterday I cranked over my etec as I haven't been out in a couple of weeks.

When I was tilting up the motor I heard a struggling noise coming from the powertrak motor/hydraulic. All of a sudden it stopped tilting. I than manually lifted the motor onto the bracket.

I felt the powertrak heat up a bit but not too hot. About an hour later the tilt worked but than stopped after around 10seconds. There is no visible oil leaks coming out of the PowerTalk and when your trying to tilt up and down you can hear it trying but obviously it doesn't.

I am quiet sure the brushes are gone.

I would like to know if any raiders have had issues with the Powertrak?

Has anyone had to change the brushes, and if so what was the cost of it?

I've been told by a mate that he had to change the whole Powertrak which was $250, which is not too bad.

Obviously, changing the brushes would be considerably cheaper. My Powertrak is a single piston motor and I have been reading reviews that evinrude have had considerably problems with the Powertrak (apparently the Powertrak is from telwater and not BRP). Is it true that the new powertraks come with a 3piston motor and if so what are the reviews. Are the new 3piston motors brushless and if not have they built a brushless unit?

  8. G'day King high tide,

If the fuel is old, even if you've got it running get rid of the old fuel and replace with new before you go out. Stale fuel can damage engines.

    Cheers, Slinky

    Hi there,

What is the best way to flush the old petrol out ?

  9. Fuel lines all good, just cranked her over manually with the cord.

All is good, shes coughing a touch though she should get a good thrashing on Saturday to clean all the shit out.

  10. Hi,

    I have a Evinrude Etec 75.

I have been away on work commitments for the past year, so I have just tried starting the engine to no avail.

The battery is fully charged, as you can tell by the voltage meter and the motor tilt is working.

When starting it starts cranking than it coughs.

    Any ideas?

  11. Dont worry about the air shocks, wait for the falcon.

As for a Brand New towbar why bother if you have the vehicle for another 5 months.

There are heaps of Holden Wreckers out there as well as aftermarket towbars which are compatible with the holdens.

A good used one wont set you back more than $150.00. As for fitting you can do it yourself or get the fellas at the wrecking yard to slap it on for you.

JohnV, was your 8 banger a ute or sedan ? Out of curiosity did you go flying over a ditch or were you fishtailing ???
