Just thought I would share a funny moment that happened to me yesterday.
I decided to run my motor as it hadn't been started for 4 weeks, took a bit to get started and when it did it put out quite a bit of smoke.
The wind was quite strong and blew the smoke into my neighbours house setting off his smoke alarm.
I quickly shut the motor down and hid inside after that.

Hi All, I have a Johnson 115 and find if I don't run the motor every couple of weeks the fuel evaporates in the carbies and clogs them up with the leftover oil.
As with all 2stoke motors, lawn mowers motorbikes etc etc I shut the fuel off and let the carbies drain of fuel to stop this happening. I am thinking of putting a cut off valve in the fuel line to do this on my motor.
Does anybody else have this problem ? or perhaps suggestions ?
cheers

Hi Linc, After a separation I moved up to Umina beach from Nth Ryde for the property prices and do not regret it onebit. The crime rate is fine, I haven't had a prob in 9 years. There are dodgy places with high crime rate, unemployment etc etc, but you also have that in Sydney areas. My neighbours kids catch a ferry over to Palm Beach and go to school there. The commute to Sydney isn't so bad, mind you I work in Hornsby and it takes me about 50 mins. I have guys at work who live in Sydney and spend more time than me on the roads. I picked Umina as it was close to Sydney and also close to the beach and waterways. I am also 10 mins away from Brisbane water and the Hawkesbury which is perfect for boating.
Cheers

i did exact same as above, took it apart alot trying to understand how it worked and fix it. Ended up at Huetts as well, so save yourself some grey hair and get it fixed by a mechanic.

It will be screwed into the top of your fuel tank. I bought a chepie sender unit 2 years ago and have had the unit out twice to resolder the connections. Dont know why i didnt resolder them all the first time

When i first started boating i was having problems starting the motor, sometimes it would start, othertimes it wouldnt.
luckily someone told me how to start an outboard. As Huey said - no cold start lever and push the key in a few times which forces fuel into the carbs.
Now i can start my motor lol

I agree with Test, id be taking it to a mechanic and get it fixed properly. Whilst disconnecting the injection system would be an easy fix it also presents more problems to deal with.

I was going to say you could invest in a lawnmower with the money from the fines

Over the xmas period a boat was rolled with 6 or 7 people on board at Ettalong. Also last year a dive boat was rolled as well with people on board so yes it can get tricky in that spot. Ive seen jet skis go out with surf boards to catch waves as well. A surfer friend also trold me that its a well knbown surf spot when conditions are right.

As above a service on the cooling system should fix the problem.

There is not enough parking there as it is.

I bought a Jarvis Walker fishing rod once and you could snap it in 2 with 2 fingers - serious. The shop refused a refund until i showed them this.

Im looking at disconnecting my VRO UNIT as its pumping way too much oil and cant spend the bucks to get it fixed.I believe doing this is a common thing with 2 strokes. My concern is the fuel and oil seperating when left sitting for a couple of weeks. My 2 stroke trailbikes used to gum up the carby with oil if left sitting for 2 weeks with fuel in the carby. Would a fuel extender help with this ?. Also does anybody know the mixing ratio for a 2000 model johnson 115?.
Thanks in advance

Your axles are solid so it would take quite a bit of rust to eat through them. Springs and shackles are another kettle of fish.

I have a 6.5 mtr lump of glass and agree with beginner - by far the easiest way but in the end it depends on trailer set up. I would go to ramp whith a mate ( just in case ) and practise practise practise.

Hi All,
Has anyone in Sydney had experience in replacing window seals and where to get them ?
We spent sat night on my half cab and as it rained all night the windows leaked like a sieve.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
