  1. T-Vinny  Flush the motor with fresh water , rabbit ears over the water inlet are the easiest method.

    Chech the gearbox to ensure the oil is in good condition , if white then water is entering through one of the seals , most likely the main drive that operates the water pump.

    If considering a service suggest Hewett Marine at Cowan.  They have been dealing with Merc's for many years & will give you a good idea of what , if anything is required to be repaired

  2. The vendor should have spent some time to familiarise you with the basic maintenance tasks. I think I saw in another post that you bought it new from Mcgraths Hill. That right?

    so I've just gone and bought me a boat for the fist time finally ) and just want to get some good tips on keeping it in good condition as in what to to after we have a good day out and what to look out for , the boat I've got is a quintrex 445 estuary angler with a 40hp mercury

    just thought someone here would be able to give me a rough quote on quintrex explorer 395 trophy on trailer and a 25hp on the back

    fiited with a small basic tiller steer electric motor, a fish finder and a canopy.

    i know i am not being too persific hear, i am only in the early stages of purchasing a boat

    just a rough quote is all im looking, to the nearest grand.

    just bought a quinnie today 445 estuary angler can't wait to get it on the water , as for the 395 explorer the book says $9225 with a 30 hp brand new , got mine from tr marine at windsor
