  1. Hey Yarra,

Sorry to hear about all the trouble you had. Tried to call you on Sunday morning but even on 86 reception was poor. Thought I lost my mobile when I launched the boat on friday...so no phone....but I found it in car when we retrieved the boat on monday...phone under the seat. We did most of our fishing just at the entrance to Smiths Creek. Picked up some nice Jewies to 80cm. Mate picked up a hairtail on the Saturday night but he lost it at the boat.....was not using a wire trace. Will catch up to you next weekend at the social.

  2. :thumbup:Yeah mate I will keep my eyes open for you..If the weather is good I will try outside Lion Island on Sunday morning..But will be looking at Jerusalem bay and candel creek, and cottage Point area ago on sunday night..I will have the 27Mhz on 86

Will keep an eye out and earon Sunday morning

  3. Will be out on the Hawkesbury trying for the Hairtail. We have hired a houseboat for the long weekend....need some comfort for the 4 days we are on the water. We still take our own boats out and use the houseboat for relaxing..............hope to catch up with you Yarraone

  4. Yep.......Will be out there on the long weekend.......Houseboat already hired....Still take our own boats up and use houseboat to relax on. Hopefully this year we can get the hairtail.

    Hi Fisher,

Sent you an e-mail with some info

  6. Hi All

Was down at the boat show today mainly to get some info on the electric anchor winch suitable for my boat. Met Betty and was very impressed with her help and advise on choosing and fitting the winch. The price was very good and even better when I talked my mate into purchasing one as well. Will be visiting her over the next fortnight to pick up the two winches.

  7. I agree with you Arman...I do have the GQ as the tow vehicle and a small car as an everyday car. This gave me the oportunity to set up the GQ as a tow/camper vehicle for those extended weekend fishing.

  8. Hi,

I have a 5metre cat and I use a nissan patrol to tow it, 4.2turbo diesel. The boat is just under 2t loaded. Patrol does it with ease and I have no problems at ramps especially on low tide or a bit of a steep ramp

  9. HI mark,

I have the same set up as your mate. Prior to fitting I spoke with various people at different boat ramps about their set up with the battery box mounted to the trailer. Most had a story about damage being done to the box and theft of the battery. So I opted for the plug on the car. In case I use another vehicle I made up another cable which runs from the winch directly to the car battery using alligator clips to mount to battery.

  10. When I was not using the boat for a while use to clean and regrease. Also whenever I was walking past the boat use to give it a few turns to keep it free. But now have fixed all of that by installing hydraulic steering.
