Guest bluecod
Best bream bait you'll come across and if you don't want to use them for bait, they're great for starting an intestinal laid burley trail Never have been able to get one of those mothers down - always reminds me of a great big hunk of mucous

Guest bluecod
Never could keep it on the damn hook. Pass hook through oyster twice and secure with a half hitch - fish with bail arm open - let bream run four or five feet and then close bail arm and strike

I duno...prawns and SPs do well for me Davy - find yourself an oyster encrusted foreshore with a low tide at dusk, no moon - mash some of the oysters on the rocks at different heights and fish at your feet. As the tide rises oyster bits will wash of the rocks providing a steady stream of burley, If bream are around they will be hard in against the rocks picking off any bits of oyster that wash off. Sorry for going off-topic but I hope Davy has learnt a bit more than he knew earlier.
Sharky
I wish I could take credit for having found these oysters but It was a pic a mate sent to me, but could you imagine having them as kilpatric you would need one rasher of bacon per oyster Half a dozen would be more than enough. changa
When in Cairns this year we had dinner at a small bowling club that we vist a couple times a year. My brother ordered half a dozen oysters killpat%%%%% and a steak as he had not eaten there before. I told him he would not eat it and he is a BIG eater. Well, the oysters came and 6 of them filled a large dinner plate. He proceeded to eat them and gave me one which had to be eaten with 2 bites(mouthfulls). Needless to say he didnt eat all of his steak and on our return trip thru the town guess what we all ordered.......... No main meal just a dozen oysters each The oysters were biggest i have ever seen and as oyster/seafood lovers of all types, i know a good oyster and we all debated the PACIFIC;/other oyster debate but these were so tasty it really made us think. Still dont know where they get them from but they are the best i have ever had FULLSTOP. I had a fresh one also that had that real SEA taste..YUM changa
Martin
When you want a classy BBQ, eg some royalty are coming over, we cook up some snags and then slit them and stuff some oysters in them and throw them back on the BBQ for a few minutes. Sort of a poor mans carpet bag steak. If I had oysters like those in the pic I would have to stuff the snag into the oyster. Love oysters and that great sea taste when there fresh. Heath
When I visit the relo's down at Oldbar neat Taree, we go down to a rock wall and get our fill. Last lot we got some of them were about the same size as those in the pic. Bloody beautifull!!!
Geoff
A few years back I came accross oysters that size at the northern end of Jervis Bay. They were referred to as drift oysters & as the name suggests they just drift around with the currant , some times ending up near the shore. Was not brave enough to try one Geoff
