Yaulpang
Hi all, Spent the day down at Shellharbour, Bass Point. Fished for kingys but to no avail. Lots of guys fishing but it was very quiet. Only one salmon landed all day but some nice big squid. These were caught by a pillie on a squid spike (not by me). Seems like a popular spot though, don't know why it was so quiet today. Paul Hi Paul , the next time you are going down that way ,there is a nice ledge facing south at Dunmore if you know the area .We used to call it the "Battleship" as there is a very large rock near the shore shaped like one .The spot is very good for trevally ,kings ,salmon and at times larger than average reds and some very big jews .There is a natural live bait tank on this platform and gars ,yellowtail and the odd slimie can be caught here .If you go out to the farm which is a favourite local surfing beach and follow the headland south you will come onto this spot .You will see Stack Island at the mouth of the Minnamurra River from this spot and its at the Northern end of the beach .There are rod holders on this platform and its best fished in a Nor easter or Westerly and definately not in a Southerly . In the Winter large John Dory can be caught near a small reef about 40 mtrs out on live yelowtail fished on the bottom Cheers Swordfisherman
Yaulpang
Cheers Stewy, Thats great info. I've got much to learn about fishing the South coast. Might concentrate on the central coast and start fishing south after I become a millionare
