Hi Iain,

Firstly I am not the squid king!!!

But I replied to the same question re squid in p/hacking.

Mate the only thing I know, is when I go hunting for a solid bream, I find bloody squid, so the territory seems to be similar.

Dark, weedy, structure, shelter, hard up against rock wall drop offs etc etc.

I don't actually catch too many squid though as previously mentioned when I am fully focused on presenting a SP so a big fat bream smashes it, I find bloody squid..

Plemty of structure in the bay, have no hot spot to report on but I am sure if you look for sea bed structure ie weed and drop offs your favourite neighbour will come to play, Squiddy!!!!

Good luck, cheers WD

Re specific areas, I have found squid in the past around bare island (be careful of the bombie though). Also found them across the other side at Watts reef area.

Yowie bay also supposedly has them but I have never got them there.

I find I get small ones during the day and thumpers at night.

A good shore based spot at night is at La Perouse down in front of Danny's seafood restuarant. The street light hits the water there.

Cheers
