Tuggarah Lakes

Hi Yall,

Travelled to the picturesque tuggarah lakes systems for a return bout against the resident flattie population on the weekend. To use a fighting analogy if it was a ten round fight i only knocked him out in the last coming from behind on points :wacko: .

God these buggers were hard to find on the weekend and when i did find em it was only by sheer arse. It's easy fishing when they are around but when they are thin on the ground it can become mightly frustrating. I was flicking 3" atomic stick baits, which for me is the new flavour of the month in terms of light line lures. The Green Pumkinseed or Carolina Pumkinseed which are new impregnated with garlic (a word of warning- believe the packaging when it says that it has garlic scent, don't confirm it by smelling inside the packet. F@#$ ME DRUNK) and deadly on south coast flatties. At one stage these were the only lures that were attracting hits down south so naturally everyone switched to em and got into the action.

Back to Tuggarah mate... sorry!

We only had 2 massive pike, two decent tailor and one foul hooked flatty to show for four hours of work. Dismal especially between three of us. We decided to anchor up as the light was fading fast to eat some food and rig our gear for bait for the evening. By sheer arse we manged to park right over the top of the school of fish. In the next hour we flicked around the anchored boat and managed a dozen keepers as if they just materialized out of nowhere. :yahoo::yahoo: bout time.

In the evening we managed 5 bream up to 35cm, 4 whiting that were huge for the lake and a luderick all on nippers. In the end we left at midnight happy campers and glad for the experience. This place holds special memories for me so i just love coming back and getting amongst it :thumbup:

Hey Kevvie - if you had motored over to the Entrance you would have found the Fishraider social going on, and with a catch like that you would almost certainly have won the trophy.

Sounds like you had significantly more luck than we did. Top effort.

Mate, i reckon the easiest way to do it is to open your photo's up in microsoft paint and literally make the photo smaller and save it as a jpg file then upload them.

Those of you that have Microsoft Office can use the Microsoft Office Picture Viewer, it is able to compress the pics for email, web page or document inclusion in an instant.
