evan rude
G'day all woke up late sunday morning, just couldn't get out of bed. and it was even harder to get my brother up. We ended up at the ramp by about eight. I havn't had much luck for squid lately so went straight to get some yakkas filled the bait tank up and set off for sow and pigs. on arrival noticed there was not a single boat there compared to the usual so I had my choice of were to anchor. dropped the pick on the north side right next to the cardinal mark and put out two livies, one driffted out on a light weight and onother just off the bottom. was there for about half hour when the livey just off the bottom goes off, grabbed the rod to strike and then nothing. about three missed runs later and finaly had hooked something, got it to the surface and it ended up being one of those black and white birds. lukely it unhooked itself and flew off. ten minutes later the other rod goes, i strike and finnaly a hook up, i get the fish to the surface and to my surprise was a nice healthy 65cm flatty. An hour goes by and nothing and then bam double hookup, two kingys, my brother lost his after a couple of runs but i managed to boat a just legal rat at 61cm. we now had our feed so decided to head in. all in all good day out!! Thanks mate!! Edited March 16, 2006 by even rude
