Gibbofisho
G'day Guy's, I'm looking at a haines V17R and everything looks awesome about it, the motor is clean and there's no transom rot or anything like that, it all looks sound. I want to know if there are any issues with 1980's johnson's this boat has a 140hp, and is it propper ettiquite to ask him to start it up with the ear muffs or someting like that, or is there a service done by boat shops where they will come and check a boat motor out for you? BTW he's asking $10,500.
TunOFun
Not only would i be asking him to kick it over with the muffs on, but a quick demo run shouldnt be too much to ask for. $10000 is $10000, would you buy a $10000 car with out taking it for a test run? Sharky
Ask for a service history. Ask him why he is selling it and get a hull check done. I would get any boat checked proffesionally first.
Gibbofisho
Good advice, also, what else should i be looking for should this haines fall through in the price range of $10k, I'm after the same style boat at the haines V17R, i need a nice low profile so i can fit it in my garage and i want the smooth ride of a haines?
