no gills
Went to South West Rocks last weekend for a charter on Splashdown on the Saturday, ended up being just my brother and brother in law on board as the other three who were booked had to big a night on the turps and missed the boat. Headed down to Fish Rock were we trolled lures and very quickly got onto yellow fin tuna, some mack tuna, frigate mackeral and some small bonito. For the next two hours it was yellow fin after yellow fin, 16 in total around the 5kg mark. Three big mack tuna, 8 Bonito and three frigate mackeral, Skipper Lawrie jigged a nice Kingie from right near the rock itself and then we travelled north to another reef and managed some Pearl Perch, Goat fish, flathead and a Nannygai. Also threw back some just undersize snapper. Ended up being a very enjoyable day and can't wait to get back up there and try for some bluefin next time. no gills
Thanks everyone, have to say I had a great time and Lawrie is a great fisho, only hope I can remember all he has showed me. We were using lively lures 4" bibless lures in yellow and orange colours trolled about 4 -6 knots.
