Guest fishrunner
Went out today in the harbour with Jewel, hoping for a good day we thought we would try double bay and rushcutters. Upon arrival Jewels 1st cast got him a nice 65cm flattie which promptly decided to keep his lure after having a quick look at us . Good start I thought , over the next 3 hrs we were reasonably busy with bout 4 trevally, 3 bream and a few very nice flatties. bigest flattie was 65cm on gulp minnow. We wre getting hits almost every cast with the 3 inch minnows working well Then we decided to try a few wharves for a tailor and 1 good bream which dusted me up on the pylons. Jewel also got done in shallow water ( 2ft) in quick smart time whilst throwing gulps., He looked at me in quiet shock as had been a while since a severe dustup. Tried a few boats where I got the best bream for the day at 35cm The ride back up river under the bridge was very rough - 2 ft holes and chop everywhere after that we tried iron cove for a few bream between us. I also have to say that the sausage sandwiches we got from the BBQ at the back of balmain pool were the icing on the cake. a few of the days catch Cheers all and thanks Jewell for a great day out. Guest fishrunner
G'day Swordfisherman, I usually launch at lilyfield, into ironcove the ramp's not bad but location is tidal. From there it's only just over 1/2 hr to the heads, . Can get pretty messy under the harbour bridge sometimes though.! cheers Edited April 3, 2006 by fishrunner
