Hello fishraiders,

Great site here guys. After catching/ releasing this big girl I thought I'd get off my bum and share aF(l)attie

I caught the other night. She went a whopping 102cm long. :yahoo: She was a shade over 24.5cm

across the widest part of her beautiful noggin and the most astounding thing was her belly... she had to be

a 20 schooner a day girl if ever :beersmile::beersmile::beersmile:

I caught her on a 3 inch evil minnow 1/16th oz jig head on 8pd braid and a 4.5kg invisi trace leader. Rod

was a 7 foot custom samurai and a Daiwa certate reel.

Must thank the missus :wife: after waking her up at an ungodly hour half way through the fight ( Yes it

was probably very stupid and tempting fate using the mobile in one hand while having this raging bull on

the other hand  ) to drive down and take a couple of quick snaps before her release.

Normally wouldn't handle a flattie of this size in such a manner (did have a glove on) but to get a true

perspective of her head compared to my boof headed 6 foot 2 frame. Back in the drink, after a quick

revive she powered off into the murky depths of night like some U- Boat....and I was home for a cold

beer.

P.S Caught five other flatties before her from 33cm to 62cm on the same night all on various plastics.

awesome report, where were you fishing ? or was it a secret spot ?

Yes but with the pics it would be a much better report......feeling quite embarrased and still can't work

out where the problem lies. Will try work system tomorow and hopefully will fare much better. I was

fishing the Macleay river will try to rectify things tomorrow!!!

Looking foward to the pic...were you fishing near a light source or just in the dark?

It was near enough to a full moon (on Good Friday night) to provide plenty of light. Sending

the pics over to a mates P.C to try sending from there. I think mine or the operator :( isn't

working to well.

Hi Guys been unsuccessful in posting these pics, tried allsorts of things including the advice

of a higher authority but to no avail. :mad3: It seems very straight forward in its purpose

but to no avail. Have posted other things on forums before with no probs.... Any help would

be greatly appreciated.

Put that one in for Fish of the Month for sure. It's going to be bloody hard to figure out what one to vote for this month. :biggrin2:
