LEELEE
Hi guys, I need some help here. I have a fair amount of the plano lure box trays and when my boat arrives :ohyeh: i was wanting to install a tackle box in the side console of my boat. However I have had no luck at the present trying to locate one. So any ideas anyone??? Your help would be greatly appreciated Lee
Bill S
G'day Lee I used a product from BLA, I have one under each rod locker. They hold 5 X 4200 Plano boxes. Here They are not water proofed in any sense of the word and any water running down the face above them will enter the gap at the top of the locker door and sit on top of the Plano's. They do hold the boxes out of the way and are better than having a seperate bag to store the trays. If I was building another boat, I would use a waterproofed inspection hatch cover and build a frame work for the trays to slide into. A helluva lot cheaper too. Cheers Bill Edited October 5, 2004 by Bill S
Guest Jocool
Lee...I was going to put one in my boat...but decided not to cos of the price! I did see one afterwards that was basically just bits of alloy angle welded to the innards of the console! That would work well...then just add a lockable waterproof hatch to that...and your in business! Ill see if I can get a piccie of what I mean! LEELEE
Thanks Jo. had a similar idea but it hard to figure it out. Thanks Lee
Bill S
Lee I think you could use alloy 90 deg. angle and make up a simple box frame, then attach the slide bases at the appropiate distance for the trays to slide into. Pop rivet, screw and nut or weld as required and Bobs your uncle  Bill

Heath
SSI make some great products. SSI Plastics Checked BLA prices :uzi: Now thats rediculous. Quick search on the web found a heap of sites where you can buy them & have them delivered for about half of what BLA are charging.

Fordo
Hi Lee, I have sent you a PM also on the Minn kota shaft. We have 2x storage boxes fitted, each of 3 draws 3000 plano stowaways. One is into the top compartment of the Console on the other is into the lower compartment. They open to the centre of the boat. Not sure of the brand, I'll check it out and let you know. I'll send you some pic's next week. Fordo

Fordo
Hi Leelee, Here's a pic of the storage, These are SSL boxes, they fit 3 x 3000 Stowaways plus some loose items underneath the bottom tray. The 27 meg sits and still fits under under the top box in the console. Fordo
Fordo
Err, looks like I dropped the resolution a bit to low. It's not meant to look that bad. Fordo
