abitfishy
I have a strange but interesting question.....why, when I catch a fish, they are going completely ballistic and flapping like a aussie flag in 100kmh winds, but when you see them on these TV shows etc, the fish are acting like they are drugged - they pull em in, sit them there for a few seconds talking about them, pick them up, take the hook out, hold them up for you to see and talk about them again for 20 sec, then release them, and they have hardly moved the whole time...... I reckon someone off camera actually hooks a half dead fish to the guys line that they previously caught just to shoot the scene!!!! Anyone else notice this? Personally I find it is the way you hold them and each fish species has its own preferred method. For example with Bass, if you gently lay them on the side in the water and pick them up so they remain on their side. Then carefully insert you thumb into their mouth and gently put pressure on their lower lip they become very carefree and relaxed. Just make sure when putting them back into the water you slowly move them back and forward until they swim off. Also with bream if you also do the side lift and and then gently hold them with your thumb on their head and your other fingers around their belly they are also very tame. However if you just pull them up over the side and into the boat they will of course go nuts. Hey if you chucked me oveboard I would go nuts. My 2 cents... Big Bob
Havent really noticed that before but I have noticed that in any fishing type advertisements here are some great blues. The ad where they catch a trout off the rocks is my favourite and no I dont think they are in Tassie. The fish that appears in the xxxx ad looks a little freshwater as well.
